      AWS Security Operations Center (SOC) Team is looking for a progressive, strategic, and agile Principal Security Industry Specialist to join the team. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in a strategic capacity, is operationally dynamic, with technical acumen, and flourish in an ambiguous environment. This role is critical in maintaining the security posture of the organization. As a principal security industry specialist, you will develop and implement overall operations strategy for the organization, work with various leaders throughout security organizations and across business lines to foster a culture of continuous improvement, efficiencies, and innovations. A successful candidate will prioritize, communicate clearly and compellingly, and understand how to drive a high level of focus and excellence. AWS in general, and the SOC in particular, operates at very large scale and demands high standards, passion and discipline around security and delivery is critical. A high level of ownership and accountability is a must to include on-call engagement on issues and supporting an effective security response team. After-hours calls, night/weekend work, international travel, and participation in escalation paging will be required.

      * Mentor and develop the next generation of security leaders and champion security initiatives
      * Ability to travel up to 30% of time globally

When we feel supported in the workplace and at home, there’s nothing we can’t achieve.* Bachelor’s degree in security discipline, Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, (or) 10+ years’ equivalent incident response, data center operations, or security management experience.
      * 10+ years of creating and managing complex, cross-team programs from strategy through delivery/adoption (especially in a technical field)
      * 10+ years’ experience managing complex global issues and coordinating across multiple business lines/regions.* Ability to present complex data/security findings in a clear/concise manner to a variety of audiences.
      * Understanding of security infrastructure, incident management, and general IT knowledge.
      * Ability to independently collect, research, and analyze technical information from a variety of sources to solve problems, troubleshoot, and build solutions with security in mind.
      * Knowledge of Internet security issues, cloud architecture, and threat landscape.
