      Your Career

      Palo Alto Networks® CASB team is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to help us build out and launch our Data Security capability on the cloud. You have the unique opportunity to:

      • Help launch a world class security service which caters to the growing needs of multiple Fortune 100 enterprise companies across the globe
      • Be part of a world-class software engineering team that works on various ground-breaking cloud security service offerings
      • Accelerate the development team in delivering security as a service in the public cloud by providing highly scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant infrastructure

      Your Impact

      • Be Responsible for the end to end workflows powering our data security platform with a very strong focus on quality, reliability, availability and security - You will make key decisions on frameworks and have a very strong bias towards an automation first mindset
      • Accelerate the technology strategy for building out a world class data security platform, influence critical decisions on technology, architecture, integration, and go to market
      • Design, develop and implement highly scalable software features and infrastructure on our next-generation security platform ready for cloud native deployment from inception to completion
      • Drive a results-oriented culture with a strong focus on execution, quality, and speed
      • Lead cross-functionally with Product Management, SRE, Software, and Quality Engineering teams to deliver new security as a service offerings to the market in a timely fashion with excellent quality
      • Develop a strong culture of diversity, intellectual curiosity, problem-solving, and openness
      • Work closely with customer support teams to improve end-customer outcomes
      • Be a strong mentor and coach to the team
      • Foster innovation in the organization
      • Participate in hiring, providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering their growth and professional development

      Qualifications

      Your Experience

      • 10+ years of experience in highly technical roles in development of enterprise services, at large organizations or innovative startups
      • 5+ years of experience in cloud technologies like Search, Redis, Kafka/PubSub, Mongo DB/Spanner, Spring Boot
      • Prior experience working as a hands-on engineer across Software engineering, Quality and DevOPS/SRE functions
      • Prior experience leading and making key decisions around tooling, frameworks and automation
      • Experience with the agile process and leading software development teams involved with building out full stack products, deployed on the cloud at scale
      • Experience with building and delivering services and workflows at scale, leveraging microservices architectures
      • Experience with cloud-based architectures (AWS/GCP experience preferred)
      • Hands-on programming experience in one or more of the following - Java, Golang, Python
      • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms
      • Strong understanding of principles of DevOps and Continuous Delivery
      • Solid foundation in design, data structures and algorithms, and strong analytical and debugging skills
      • Strong leadership skills with a can-do attitude and ability to make trade-off judgements with data driven decision making
      • Preferred experience with AI based conversational UI and chatbot platforms/frameworks
      • High energy and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
      • Enjoys working with many different teams with strong collaboration and communications skills
      • BS/MS in Computer Science, other engineering/technical degree or equivalent military experience required

      The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $140,100/yr to $226,600/yr.
