What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Lead the design and architecture of medical device software, mentoring and guiding embedded software teams
- Establish and enforce strong software engineering practices across multiple teams
- Create and review software design specifications, interface descriptions, and requirements specifications
- Influence software test strategy and support validation and verification activities
- Manage assigned projects to completion, including preparing project status reports
What is Required (Qualifications):
- 10 years of experience in embedded or mobile software for medical devices or a related area
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer sciences, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in formal software and experience with software life cycle development for medical device software
- Ability to scope, estimate time needed, and track large-scale development projects
- Knowledge of Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with device driver development and software/system debugging
- Proficiency in the “C” programming language for embedded software engineers
- Skilled at fostering effective communication between diverse groups
- Ability to lead change initiatives and redeploy resources as needed
