      The Role
      We are looking for a .NET Principal Software Engineer. This person will be responsible for writing and maintaining code to support our driver monitoring systems. The role will encompass engaging with Business Analysts, Software Engineers, and Software Quality Assurance Analysts to understand system requirements, deliver high-quality software following Solera’s development standards and best practices, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating with team members for software design and code reviews. Tasks may include work with legacy client systems as well as contributions to design and implementation of microservices and web applications.

      What You’ll Do

      New Product Development:

      Work with team to write new software that conforms to Solera's business needs and best practices.

      Collaborate with the Product and Development teams to ensure proper application design and implementation.

      Participate in SCRUM, code reviews, and other team meetings.

      Analyze system specifications and translate system requirements to manageable & measurable tasks.

      Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge and experience across all Explore teams.

      Take a leading role in troubleshooting issues and solving complex problems.

      Maintenance/Bug Fixes

      Modify existing software to fix bugs while being mindful of performance impacts.

      Work with team to address performance improvements and refactor accordingly.

      Diagnose & troubleshoot problems.

      Analyze & maintain current applications & processes.

      What You’ll Bring

      Required

      Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent

      8+ years of software development experience

      6+ years of C# experience in .NET Framework or .NET Core

      5+ years relational databases experience, SQL Server

      Architecture patterns like MVC or MVVM

      Experience with testing frameworks like NUnit, xunit or equivalent

      Extensive knowledge of version control TFS or git

      Knowledge of design pattern fundamentals, Repository, Factory, Facade, etc.

      Experience with Test Driven Development

      .NET front end experience in technologies such as .NET Web Forms, Razor Pages

      Experience with JavaScript, jQuery, etc.

      Experience with client-side validators

      Client-side caching optimization

      API Development, REST, SOAP

      Prior work experience in and understanding of Agile Development

      Ability to understand a complex infrastructure environment

      Fluent in English both Written and Verbal

      Nice To Have

      Experience with Microservices

      Queueing services like RabbitMQ, Service Bus, or MSMQ

      Experience with Mocking Frameworks like MOQ or Rhino
