      ZF Active Safety and Electronics US, LLC has openings for the position of Principal Systems Engineer based out of its location in Farmington Hills, MI.

      Job Duties Responsible to analyze and elicit customer requirements for automotive front camera applications; Decompose, develop system level requirements per customer requirements; Work with cross discipline teams & customers to capture/clarify product goals & capabilities; Manage product requirements across projects per approved processes & tools like IBM Doors; Create, maintain system architecture design using tools like IBM Rhapsody; Develop, improve processes for architectural best methods & negotiate with Global Systems Team; Work with stakeholder teams (e.g., Software, Hardware, Mechanical, Manufacturing) to ensure feasibility of allocations & design; Manage requirements traceability across V Cycle; Create requirements to fill gaps between Core (R&D) and customer requirements; Drive timely delivery of System Engineering work products; Support work products & initiatives from functional safety, cybersecurity, quality, & other disciplines; Liaise with customer regarding product requirements issues to improve efficiency, performance, quality, etc.; Work with Safety team to develop Technical Safety Requirements; Create System FMEA & System FTA; Develop & demonstrate correct processes, templates for tools like DOORS & Rhapsody; Support problem resolution & change management activities; Adhere to industry standards like ISO26262, ASPICE processes and support Audits; and Drive resolution of open issues related to Requirements and Systems Engineering. Position requires up to 15% travel to domestic and international customer sites to perform sanity check on calibrations. A hybrid (in-office and telecommute) work schedule is available.

      Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Network Systems, Electrical Engineering, or related field, plus 5 years of experience in Systems, Software or Electronics (or related) occupations in the automotive industry, and demonstrated experience with: Functional Safety Analysis (for example: System Failure Mode & Effective Analysis (SFMEA), System Fault Tree Analysis (SFTA), Dependent Failure Analysis (DFA), IBM Rational DOORs, IBM Rhapsody); Requirement elicitation; Requirements management; Product development (‘V’) Life cycle in the automotive domain or a similar regulated industry; Software or Hardware technical disciplines; CAN (traditional); CAN (Flexible data Rate); Automotive Ethernet; Requirement management tools; ISO26262 methodologies; ASPICE methodologies; CANoe; CANalyzer; CANape; 5Y; Ishikawa diagram; and Fault Tree Analysis.
