      PE Analyst Role

      The candidate will be hired to work in the alternative investment management industry at a high-quality, growing firm and gain exposure to the private equity asset class. The analyst will support the private equity team in the sourcing, evaluation, and monitoring of investments. During your time in the program, you will have the opportunity to interact with all levels of investment professionals and members of Apogem Capital’s Senior Leadership Team in a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative environment with people who are committed to helping you develop your skills and experience in private equity.

      Key Areas of Responsibility

      • Daily review of industry news and enter new funds into proprietary database
      • Database management, including generation of primary team’s pipeline and forward calendar
      • Industry and strategy market mapping
      • Attend prospective manager and co-investment meetings and calls and generate meeting notes and quick screen evaluations
      • Present quick screen evaluation findings in weekly team meetings
      • Support deal team in initial assessment of investment opportunities
      • Support senior investment professionals in diligence documentation
      • Attend investment committee meetings and own documentation of commitments and approvals
      • Opportunity to become more involved in diligence with experience
      • Post-closing documentation for new investments
      • Quarterly review of underlying fund managers’ portfolio companies, capturing relevant portfolio data
      • Weekly tracking of capital call and distribution activity at the underlying manager level
      • Investment monitoring, AGM, and LPAC participation
      • Support marketing and other various requests from existing and prospective investors
      • Support client service in development of existing and prospective investor communications
      • Support special project work as needed

      Candidate Profile

      • Four-year college degree; preference for majors in finance, economics, or accounting
      • Demonstrated interest in and intellectual curiosity about the investment management industry
      • Strong work ethic
      • Mastery of Excel and PowerPoint
      • Ability to gather, organize, and analyze data effectively
      • Attention to detail
      • Strong written and oral communication skills
      • Demonstrated resourcefulness and ability to take initiative
      • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills; must be able to prioritize, but also multi-task
      • Ability to work in a team-oriented culture and maintain open communication with team members
      • Experience with computer science and data analytics is a plus

      Salary range:

      Overtime eligible: Exempt

      Discretionary bonus eligible: No

      Sales bonus eligible: No
