      NB Alternatives – Private Markets is a key division within Neuberger Berman with over $114bn AUM. NB Alternatives continues to grow rapidly and is actively investing. The Vice President will work across the Private Equity platform in the following complementary strategies:

      • Private Investment Portfolios: Creating portfolios of private equity funds within multiple asset classes, including large and mid-cap buyouts, growth equity, emerging managers, venture capital, and distressed investments
      • Co-Investment Fund: Building a diversified portfolio of direct private equity investments by co-investing in private companies alongside premier financial sponsors

      The position provides an opportunity to work across a leading private equity platform in the areas listed above in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment with constant interaction with the most senior members of the team..

      Responsibilities:

      • Source attractive emerging managers for custom portfolios
      • Performing in-depth valuation analysis of private companies and private equity portfolios
      • Leading the preparation of due diligence materials, screening and investment committee memos
      • Regularly meeting with partners of premier private equity firms
      • Monitoring investments through attending annual meetings of private equity firms, evaluating positions in public securities and attending board calls
      • Conducting special projects, including product development, asset allocation analyses, fund marketing and communications with investors
      • Interacting with different parts of the firm to gather information necessary to make investment decisions in the various strategies


      Requirements:

      • Must have excellent academic credentials. MBA and/or significant undergraduate GPA
      • 6+ years experience in related field (private equity and/or investment banking). Buyside experience strongly preferred
      • Ability to articulate an opinion and present ideas in a concise manner both orally and in written form
      • Ability to multi-task with a fine-tuned attention to detail
      • Experience financial modeling and valuation using Discounted Cash Flow (CF), public comparables, precedent transactions, and LBO model; Bloomberg; and CapitalIQ
      • Strong technical foundations in corporate finance and accounting including modeling and valuation
      • Initiative and creativity in approach to problem solving; demonstrated experience in conducting research and interacting with others to develop solutions
      • Strong judgment, critical thinking and written skills
      • Team-player attitude and a desire to work on a wide range of projects
      • Strong interest in private equity

      Compensation Details

      The salary range for this role is $180,000-$200,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in New York City. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus.
