      Job Description

      The Pro Bono Coordinator plays a vital role in managing and expanding Pillsbury’s pro bono program, ensuring
      attorneys have meaningful opportunities to contribute their skills to those in need. This position oversees both firmwide
      and local office specific initiatives, maintaining key partnerships, facilitating attorney participation, and ensuring
      compliance with reporting and recognition efforts. By streamlining administrative processes, fostering inter-office
      collaboration, and promoting a culture of service, the Pro Bono Coordinator strengthens Pillsbury’s commitment to equal
      justice and social impact. Their work not only enhances the firm’s reputation but also empowers attorneys to engage in
      pro bono work that aligns with their expertise and interests.


      The Pro Bono Coordinator is responsible, in collaboration with the Pro Bono Committee Chair and Vice Chair, for the
      strategic management and expansion of Pillsbury’s firmwide Pro Bono Program.


      Firmwide Pro Bono Administration


      • Firmwide Pro Bono Administration.
      • Serve as a primary contact for firmwide and external pro bono inquiries.
      • Serve on the Firmwide Pro Bono Committee, planning and attending quarterly annual meetings and
      staying informed on firmwide pro bono initiatives.
      • Maintain and manage the firmwide Pro Bono Database, including data accuracy and updates.
      • Work with external vendors (e.g., Elegrity) to improve firmwide pro bono processes.
      • Support the Social Impact Fellowship, including application process, review and administration.
      • Supporting the Equal Justice Works Fellowship, including interview schedule, and act as a liaison with
      Equal Justice Works staff.


      Firmwide Pro Bono Program Development & Growth


      • Firmwide Pro Bono Program Development & Growth.
      • If not already a member, join the national organization Association of Pro Bono Counsel. *Only
      attorneys and non-attorneys who manage a law firm pro bono program full time may join.
      • Seek and promote new pro bono opportunities for attorneys and staff, ensuring attorneys meet pro
      bono participation goals and provide necessary training.
      • Manage annual pro bono surveys, internal pro bono awards, and reporting.
      • Foster relationships with external legal service organizations and establish new partnerships,
      representing the firm at pro bono events, conferences, and external engagements.
      • Facilitate inter-office collaboration on pro bono initiatives.
      • Provide media and public relations support for pro bono initiatives when needed.


      Pro Bono Administrative Duties


      • Serve as a member of the Pro Bono Committee.
      • Collaborate to coordinate Pro bono events, including CLE programming, lunch presentations, clinics,
      and researchathons.
      • Facilitate attorney connections for pro bono opportunities and internal case support.
      • Respond to and troubleshoot pro bono inquiries within the various offices.
      • Manage the Pro Bono Pulse page on a regular basis, updating opportunities, announcements, and
      events.
      • Maintain catalog of attorneys’ pro bono participation, areas of expertise/interest, and casework.
      • Track and report on pro bono participation for internal review and outreach.

      Qualifications

      • The successful candidate should have at least 1 year of legal project management experience,
      • Preferably at an AmLaw 100 firm. Pro bono management experience at a law firm or a legal
      services organization is a plus.
      • Ability to use good judgment, initiative, and command of resources to accomplish results.
      • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with a diverse group of clients, attorneys, and
      staff
      • Occasional travel may be required.
      • Ability to multitask and work independently.
      • Flexibility and ability to prioritize a continually changing workload.
      • Ability to work well under pressure and be self-motivated.
      • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and Adobe.

      Qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records will be considered for the position in accordance with the California Fair Chance Act.

      California, New York and Washington DC Pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on skillset and experience, is $65k - $85k.
