      Job Description

Do you enjoy working in safety critical industries? Do you like delivering solutions to technically complex problems? Equality, diversity & inclusion | Atkins Careers UK & Europe (atkinsrealis.com)

      Your purpose:

In this role you will be keen to develop PSA models, analyse and interpret results to support decision-making in the design, operation, and decommissioning of nuclear facilities. Your familiarity with Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 PSAs and the PSA-related software used (such as RiskSpectrum PSA, Reliability Workbench, CAFTA), will allow you to be able to assess weaknesses in the plant design and PSA models. This may extend to your awareness of the role the operator plays in the performance of the plant and how we would gauge their reliability using Human Reliability Assessments or the modelling of hazards in the PSA. All of this allows our clients to better understand the balance of risk from the design and operation.

This role will also provide you with the opportunity to work with diverse clients from defence, nuclear generation, and nuclear new build. You'll contribute to the project lifecycle from winning work to execution and delivery to project close-out. Some major project activities may include managing internal and external stakeholders, nuclear regulatory and licensing procedures, nuclear safety analysis and production of high-quality technical reports for nuclear safety case.

You will have the opportunity to contribute to and learn from the wider technical community within AtkinsRéalis, taking advantage of the global expertise we have to foster collaboration within multidisciplinary engineering teams. You will also play a vital role in developing and mentoring junior engineers to further support our growth and improve our capability for project delivery to clients whilst strengthening your leadership skills.
