- Performs professional supervision case planning.
- Completes risk/need assessment with candidates to determine eligibility for participation in treatment court.
- Collaborates with participant to determine treatment planning and goals for supervision case plan.
- Links participants with services if ordered by the court or clinically assessed.
- Evaluates probationer's progress and compliance with program conditions.
- Determines probable cause for recommending temporary incarceration prior to adjudication.
- Provides counseling services for participants.
- Performs administrative duties including maintaining both TN Web Information Technology System based on TN State Requirements and Metro Nashville’s Adult Probation Database.
- Conducts investigations and makes recommendations to the courts.
- Assumes case management responsibilities.
- Prepares and maintains paper and electronic case records and reports.
- Prepares social histories for the court.
- Acts as a liaison between adults, their families, and available community resources.
- Attends regular trainings to remain current on best practices in supervision and treatment of substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health issues.
- Attends state and national level trainings annually.
- Maintain confidentiality of HIPPA protected information.
- Schedule/require drug and alcohol testing.
- Conduct home, transitional living, or employment visits.
- Enforcing residency requirements, curfews, and travel restrictions.
- Meet monthly with all high-risk participants to perform case management and perform motivational interviewing strategies and recovery equity-based discussion as a measure to improve participants’ problem-solving skills and alter dysfunctional criminal-thinking patterns.

The Probation Officer 1 is a Full-Time, Non-Civil Service position with the Recovery Court located within the General Sessions Court under the jurisdiction of the General Sessions Court Judge Gale Robinson. In this capacity, the incumbent performs professional work in activities related to the probation of high-risk, high-need adult offenders, assisting in their rehabilitation. Performs related duties as required.

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.

Valid Driver's License
Candidates with accreditations earned in a foreign institute are encouraged to apply.
