      THE POSITION:

      Problem-Solving is a humanistic approach that works to reduce system in-flow by creatively assisting households and individuals in maintaining their current housing or identifying an immediate and safe housing alternative. The Problem Solving (PS) Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the intersection of Coordinated Entry System (CES) services and PS services in SPA 2, providing technical assistance to both systems. This position actively supports direct service staff to connect households appropriately by providing training and guidance. This role requires the ability to exercise independent judgment and make sound decisions regularly with minimal supervision, always acting in the best interest of LAFH and the participants we serve.

      WHAT YOU'LL DO:

      • Implement the Problem-Solving intervention strategy throughout Service Planning Area (SPA) 2
      • Ensure all providers in SPA 2 are officially trained on Problem-Solving interventions
      • Collaborate with the LAHSA Problem-Solving Unit to streamline requests for PSAF and intervention updates
      • Ensure consistent tracking of Problem-Solving intervention across SPA 2's system
      • Work with critical partners to integrate Problem-Solving intervention further upstream from the Coordinated Entry System (CES) to decrease inflow
      • Participate and facilitate regular meetings with Problem-Solving intervention providers in SPA 2
      • Attend regular meetings for CES in SPA 2
      • Attend system-focused meetings regarding the intersection between Problem-Solving intervention and CES
      • Provide guidance to providers on accessing SPA 2 Problem-Solving intervention funds
      • Provide continuous CES training to Problem-Solving intervention providers, including eligibility, referral processes, and expectations
      • Attend required/requested meetings, staff meetings, and program-specific collaborative meetings
      • Perform additional tasks, projects, and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor

      WHAT YOU'RE SKILLED AT:

      • Proficient in Homeless Services in Los Angeles County CES
      • Knowledge of and familiarity with Harm Reduction principles and strategies
      • Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal skills, cultural awareness, and sensitivity in establishing connections with clients
      • Innovative and effective in resolving challenges
      • Displays strong written and verbal communication abilities
      • Demonstrates robust leadership qualities
      • Exhibits exceptional public speaking abilities
      • Competent in collaborating as a team member and as an independent contributor
      • Fluency in Spanish and English is desirable but not mandatory

      WHAT YOU'VE ACCOMPLISHED:

      • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in social services along with a Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field. Alternatively, a candidate with five (5) years of relevant experience can substitute the educational requirement.
