- Partner with Production and Maintenance personnel to identify, prioritize, and complete projects to improve process performance
- Own performance (OEE, yield, etc.), quality, and safety metrics. Drive accountability in an improvement-focused culture across team members on production line
- Write and maintain documented centerlines and standard work instructions for area of ownership
- Lead root cause analysis and collaborate with multi-functional teams to implement meaningful solutions
- Work with other PPIs to build and implement standardized CI methodologies across all production lines in the company
- Utilize the fundamental tools and processes of continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, others) to mentor plant personnel, lead process improvement projects and enhance overall operational performance
- Supervise key metrics and other plant performance indicators, using these to find opportunities for improvement and verify solution effectiveness
- Assist in research, design, and implementation of new manufacturing processes including production flow and equipment
- Participate as technical and engineering resource on manufacturing research projects and new product commercialization activities
- Support operations and engineering in the development of capital spending plans and project development
- Foster a positive working environment for all team members
- Understand King’s Hawaiian’s safety & compliance regulations for plants and uphold these standards as a leader in the plant
- Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting as needed
- Perform other duties as required which are reasonably within scope of this role
- Required – Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year college or equivalent relevant experience
- Required – 5 years in a high-speed manufacturing environment, preferably Food and Beverage or CPG, implementing process and production improvements
- Preferred – Minimum 2 years of experience directly leading team members
- Required – Proficiency with all MS Office Applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Preferred – Experience implementing Continuous Improvement initiatives
- Preferred – Working knowledge of Autonomous Maintenance and Total Productive Maintenance
- Preferred – Experience completing and/or facilitating root cause analysis in a production environment preferred
- Working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA
- Proficient with RedZone Productivity Suite
- Proficient with Excel and/or Tableau for dashboard building
- Strong verbal and written communication skills – ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization
- Strong emotional intelligence and ability to build consensus and gain support from others
- Self-starter with a bias for action; able to make independent and sound decisions

Working under the Senior Operations Manager, the Process & Product Improvement Engineer (PPI) will provide engineering, technical, and problem-solving support to a production line(s). The PPI is the single point-of-contact for process performance and will collaborate with Production, Maintenance, and other functions to identify and resolve opportunities to improve employee safety, product quality, and process efficiency across the line. This role will act as a change agent on their line, helping to drive alignment and improvement across multiple shifts and functions. Employees in this position will interact with a broad range of colleagues – from front-line team members to company executives.

Physical Demands

Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 - 25 pounds, and occasionally more than 50 pounds with assistance from co-worker and/or mechanic devices. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee will be handling items that may be very hot. Noise level is usually moderate. Must be available to work overtime, nights, weekends, and Holidays.
