The engineer will be responsible for the level 1 automation systems and ensure the optimum performance of equipment for plant operations through continual improvement initiatives.

The engineer should not only be able to understand the underlying technology making up the level 1 system, but also able and willing to learn the sheet steel making process to aid in analyzing and solving process problems.

Nucor Steel West Virginia is Nucor’s new sheet mill with advanced steel making capabilities and lower carbon emissions. This is a greenfield project, which is estimated to be fully operational after two years of construction. The new steel mill will employ 800 full-time teammates producing up to 3 million tons per year at one of the most technologically advanced sheet mills and is located in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains in close proximity to both Huntington and Charleston, WV.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
