      Job Responsibilities

      As a Metrology Engineer at Lam Research, you will play a crucial role in the development of cutting-edge semiconductor processes. This position presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the advancement of technology that powers electronic devices globally.

      Schedule: Shift B: 2pm-10:30pm

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Design, develop, and implement advanced metrology techniques for semiconductor manufacturing processes.
      • Generate, organize, and interpret data; modify recipes; and providing 1:1 support to technologists at the highest technical level.
      • Ensure the quality and reliability of measurements, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
      • Perform calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of metrology equipment.
      • Make recommendations that enhance overall lab performance and workflow, help develop metrology lab capabilities and perform regular evaluation of key metrology assets using SPC methods.
      • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of metrology procedures, calibration records, and equipment specifications.
      • Clean and recover delicate high-vacuum equipment (disassemble, clean, and rebuild ion guns and other sensitive equipment).
      • Toolsets include Ion-beam assisted sample preparation systems, Dual-beam FIB, CD-SEM, Review SEM, analytical SEM, optical and x-ray thin film measurement systems (ellipsometry, XRF, XRR), atomic force microscopes (AFM), profilometers, defect inspection systems, FTIR, TXRF, and others.

      Other Job Responsibilities

      Minimum Qualifications

      • BS/MS in the field of Engineering/Physics.
      • Hands-on experience working in a laboratory setting, conducting experiments, and handling metrology equipment and data.
      • Hands-on experience operating dual-beam FIB.
      • Proficiency with MS Excel.
      • Excellent oral and written communication.

      Salary and Benefits

      CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $82 - $152K

      The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
