      The Opportunity: As a Calgary based Process Engineer reporting to the Manager - Conventional Process Engineering, you have an opportunity working with a dynamic group of professionals in the Facilities, Operations and Production teams designing and constructing new oil and gas facilities as well as optimizing existing facilities. This includes identifying opportunities for enhancing production, reducing costs, improving reliability, debottlenecking, greenhouse gas reductions, supporting management of change and implementing new technology. Key Accountabilities: - Promote innovative fit for purpose solutions for facility projects by working closely with the Facilities, Operations and Production Engineering teams ensuring the most appropriate technologies and designs are used for each application while incorporating operational experience into the facilities and sharing this throughout the company - Encourage process safety awareness within your work and actively promote safety in the field- Provide technical support for the Facilities, Production and Operations teams including: - Process scoping - Equipment sizing and rating - Piping and pipeline hydraulic evaluations. - Safety system design including flares systems and relief devices - Preparation and review of process deliverables, including PFDs and P&IDs - Process simulations - Facility troubleshooting, optimization and debottlenecking of new projects and existing facilities - Assist and participate in Process review activities, including PHA reviews - Participate in team meetings ensuring alignment of goals and priorities with front line staff as well as liaise with the area Leads, Superintendents and Production Managers on work prioritization - Be knowledgeable and work according to all applicable CNRL Standards, Industry Codes, Guidelines, Directives and Regulations Other Details: - Job location: Calgary, Alberta - Shift schedule: 5x2 - Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day - Eligible for relocation pursuant to Canadian Natural’s relocation policy - Regular field travel expected - Competitive salary, stock options, stock savings plan and benefits - This is a safety sensitive position Skills & Qualifications: - Engineering degree from accredited university - APEGA registered P.Eng. in good standing, showing relevant oil and gas experience - 10+ years of process engineering experience in the design and operation of Canadian conventional sour oil and gas production facilities with significant time spent in the field - Commissioning experience would be considered an asset - Competent in the use of process engineering specific software, such as Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Flare System Analyzer, and ProMax - A proven team player with strong communications skills and the ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships - Proven track record of developing practical solutions that maximize production at existing facilities as well as having provided process design direction to external engineering resources Why Canadian Natural?
