      THE POSITION

      Keyera is currently seeking a Process Engineer (Contract) to work with our Calgary office on a 12-month contract with the ability to renew. You would be working directly with Keyera's Technical Services Group, by supporting existing facilities, integrating with the commercial groups to develop new projects, and being the process lead on projects in the execution phase. Your work would directly impact the commercial viability, safety, operability, and efficiency of current facilities, and future projects. As part of a multidisciplined team, you would be working with a variety of disciplines, as well as other external contractors.

      RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Technical: Pipeline hydraulics; Plant Capacity Studies; Process Simulations (Hysys/VMGSim); KPI summaries; Troubleshooting issues for existing facilities; New/existing equipment capacity evaluations;; Application of industry standard codes/directives/recommended practices.

      • Project Management: Ability to provide clear direction to 3rd party EPCs and distill technical requirements into deliverables; cost estimation (both capital and operating)

      • Safety: Participation in HAZOPs, PHAs, design reviews, safety incident investigations.

      • Operations: Regular field visits required for data gathering and operations support; Ability to work closely with operations to ensure designs solutions are practical and operable.

      • Stake Holder Management: ability to build key relationships with project stakeholders ie. operations, business development, regulatory, and the project team.

      • Communication: Ability to write concise/clear process design bases, ability to provide input to project charters and provide support for Project scope definition;

      • Other Soft Skills: Strong work ethic; Effective time management skills; Ability to work as part of a team; Creative problem solver; An “I don’t know the answer, but can figure it out” attitude.

      QUALIFICATIONS

      • Engineering degree from accredited university and registered Professional Engineer in Alberta

      • 10-15 years well rounded experience founded on strong process engineering and overall project management skills relating to natural gas processing, liquids fractionation, pipeline infrastructure and supplemented by experience in business development, operations, and economic evaluation.

      • On-site operations experience

      • Working knowledge of process safety management

      • Creativity in developing and evaluating alternative solutions to realize business opportunities

      • Ability to quickly distill the key issues/risks from a large number of issues/risks early in a project with minimal information

      • Strong communication, interpersonal, organization and decision making skills

      • Self-starter who is able to work independently with minimal supervision

      • Demonstrated ability to perform successfully in a multi-disciplined work team environment
