Job Description

- Maintain active records of all plant projects from inception through closure
- Lead initiatives to identify innovative processes, manufacturing automation, and growth expanding product development
- Support manufacturing plants in process related issues, root cause identification, resolution, and validation
- New material trials, documentation, recommendations, and implementations
- Implement scrap reduction projects through process, tooling, or equipment modifications
- Develop standardized processes with documentation for multiple manufacturing methods
- Develop specifications and obtain quotations for tooling and other equipment as needed for projects
- Routinely visit plants to provide hands on support, evaluate plant operations, and provide requested assistance.
- Evaluate equipment and operations for potential safety and health hazards; work with plant to eliminate hazards.
- Write technical and business documents, reports, presentations, and correspondence.
- Obtain quotes and create capital cost justification
- Time studies and standardized process development
- Product flow optimization
- Drive continuous improvement activities
- Engineering support including:
- Measurement and analysis of production process parameters (energy use, scrap rate, operation efficiency, etc.)
- Participate with Kaizen teams for continuous improvement
- Perform other related tasks as required.
- Strong understanding and ability in 2D CAD drawings
- Scientific molding knowledge
- Technical writing ability
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Clear and concise business and technical writing ability.
- Demonstrated ability in process improvement, metric development, and problem solving
- Communicate effectively and tactfully with customers, suppliers, managers, and all levels of employees - Provide clear direction and explain technically complicated information in layman’s terms.
- Work well with conflicting priorities and deadlines.

- Bachelors’ Degree in Plastics, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a plastic manufacturing environment
- Lean Manufacturing (5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma, Quick Problem Solving) Desired
- CAD Experience
- Continuous Improvement
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Travel required up to 30%.
- Work outside of normal business hours, occasionally on short notice.
WE WILL RELOCATE THE RIGHT CANDIDATE - Position based in our Cleveland Tennessee facility. The facility is within driving distance of Chattanooga, a great place to settle down.

Locally we have an immediate opening for a Process Engineer with Plastics Experience for our CTI Plant in Cleveland TN.
Job Summary_Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for developing standardized processing procedures, scrap reduction, efficiency improvements, training of process technicians at the facilities and processing documentation for launches. The focus of the position will be on plastic processes including extrusion, thermoforming, and injection molding for the division.
