      Job Duties and Responsibilities:

      • In this role, the engineer supports commercialization and scale up projects and activities across all Bayport plant areas to ensure the manufacturing process capability meets customer performance requirements and provides a reliable end product for customers.
      • To achieve these results, this individual will work as a process development and scale-up engineer to ensure that product commercialization and scale ups are successfully performed and coordinated across all production areas within Bayport.
      • In addition, this role is responsible for the safe operation and improvement of process development equipment and processes.
      • A strong understanding of chemistry and/or chemical engineering is required.
      • The engineer will be Environmental Health & Safety focused, innovative and show growth potential assuming additional responsibilities within manufacturing and engineering.
      • The role will also Lead the Bayport Operations Commercialization Site Steering Team, a cross functional group that works to align resources and timing to the needs of the Business and Commercial needs for new products.
      • Supporting Process Research & Development in establishment of manufacturing process (Optimization, equipment modifications, process automation, process sustainability procedures, process conditions).
      • Leading and supporting "Product Responsible Person, assisting with Sales Specifications to balance Customer needs.
      • Supporting Product Data Management revisions and be familiar with Product Data Management and Safety Data Sheets.
      • Leading Communications with broader Manufacturing & Engineering organization of Project Goals, Timing, and Risks.
      • Strongly supporting / leading the Manufacturing Readiness Assessment during the different project phases.
      • Supporting completion of Environmental Health & Safety Systems review. Being fully engaged in any remaining risks.
      • Co-leading process Failure Modes & Effects Analysis, and Production Part Approval Process submission if required.
      • Co-leading long term manufacturing plan and product delivery plan with Global Supply Chain Plan.
      • Leading / supporting projects concerning replacement of raw materials in order to enable current business and growth.
      • Providing leadership, expertise, diagnosis, and optimization in plant Raw Material Efficiency, which may include yield or waste generation.
      • Ensuring compliance with plant operating permits.
      • Understanding site integration and provide input to optimize the overall system.
      • Learning and applying continuous improvement, value creation, and financial acumen skills to accelerate profitability and low-cost service of the facility.
      • Driving high levels of quality, responsiveness, and reliability for the customer.
      • Actively working to maximize plant margin. Setting up metrics and management systems to optimize the cost position and profit generation of the plant.
      • Passing certification of technical skills, technology, and process safety expertise.
      • Identify and execute small capital/expense projects to enhance capabilities and capacity.
      • Interface with Research and Development, Applications, Supply Chain and Manufacturing to successfully transfer new products to plant scale.
      • Use Six Sigma tools to ensure product consistently meets target specifications at pilot and production scale.
      • Understand current manufacturing capabilities and modify process as appropriate. Understand chemistry/processing and apply fundamentals to ensure successful product introduction.
      • Write detailed product operating procedures and provide operating conditions to manufacturing sites.

      Qualifications:

      • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related-science discipline is required.
      • 3+ years of relevant experience in engineering, manufacturing or related experience required.
      • A minimum requirement for this U.S.-based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.
