      This position improves the effectiveness of the workforce by developing and implementing process improvement projects in operations and developing standard processing procedures in the plant. This role utilizes statistical process improvement methodologies and leads small project teams to optimize manufacturing operations.


      Additional Information

      Shift: Monday - Friday

      Travel: 5%

      This position is also eligible for bonus based on performance and subject to the terms of the Company’s applicable plans.

      Qualifications

      Minimum Requirements:
      • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
      • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
      • Must have completed formal training in and/or have at least one (1) year of work experience applying continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Transactional Lean, etc.
      • Must have a bachelor’s degree or higher or at least four (4) years of work experience in engineering
      • Must have at least one (1) year of work experience in a manufacturing, distribution, operations function or have completed a Sherwin-Williams Development Program in an Engineering function
      • Must have at least one (1) year of work experience in engineering
      Preferred Qualifications:
      • Have a bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering
      • Have at least two (2) years of work experience in engineering
      • Have at least one (1) year of work experience in a manufacturing and/or distribution facility

      Responsibilities

      • Identify improvement opportunities in existing manufacturing operations, justify procedural changes or process modifications, and established operating procedures for the plant throughout the life of continuous improvement projects
      • Assess processes, take measurements and interpret data
      • Design, run, test and upgrade systems and processes
      • Develop best practices, routines and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output
      • Perform process simulations
      • Manage cost and time constraints
      • Conduct safety assessments to ensure safe practices are not sacrificed by procedural changes or process modifications
      • Provide process documentation, training, and standard operating procedures
      • Optimize processes to attain lower manufacturing costs, increased productivity, and reduced cycle times
      • Lead tactical site-level projects and contribute to regional and divisional projects
      • Identify, communicate, and overcome obstacles that may prohibit meeting production requirements
      • Improve process procedures by partnering with operating employees in various departments to collect, analyze, and implement results via training or capital expenditure recommendations
