- Ensuring that manufacturing processes are capable of meeting both customer requirements and internal yield/recovery, quality, reliability, and productivity objectives by establishing and maintaining standard operating procedures, control plans, SPC, FMEAs and job instructions
- Leading and directing key strategic projects to achieve performance plans
- Engaging team members through training, coaching, and empowerment in support of world-class manufacturing methodologies
- Supporting root cause failure analysis around process and quality losses, development of troubleshooting standards to improve MTBF, and decision support tools that drive continuous improvement
- Supporting the Manufacturing Unit Leader in developing leadership capabilities and operations-maintenance integration for the manufacturing unit team
- Leading continuous improvement methods required to sustain performance plan results through projects and tasks
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field (mechanical, chemical, or metallurgical) required
- 1-5 years of industrial experience an asset, including student roles
- Experience in Aluminum or Steel hot and/or cold rolling metal processing environment is an asset
- A solid understanding of process control and continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience using a variety of computer programs and willing to learn new computer skills quickly
- The ability to empower and engage a diverse team to achieve our Focused 5 by demonstrating our Cultural Beliefs in all undertakings
- Comfortable using databases including but not limited to excel, Access, SQL or similar

Position Overview
Our Novelis Kingston, ON facility is seeking to add a hardworking Process Engineer to its team. The purpose of this role is to hold, improve, and transfer knowledge related to Site manufacturing processes. The role is responsible for process improvement & assurance, supporting product implementation, defining, and starting up new investments and processes. The key responsibility is to generate and coordinate all process settings and procedures to ensure the safe, effective, and efficient production of quality products.

Location Profile
Novelis – Kingston Works is situated on the traditional homeland of the Haudenosaunee Anishinaabe and Huron-Wendat peoples.
