      Objective

      The Process Engineer - is responsible for developing and implementing optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes for large structural thin-wall High Pressure Die Casting (HPDC) components and assemblies.

      They should strive to meet the highest quality requirements for the structural components of fully electric premium SUVs, which include crashworthiness, Class A surface appearance, HPDC weldability, thermal stability, and dimensional requirements

      Main Responsibilities
      Develop and optimize production and manufacturing processes for structural HPDC parts (preferably secondary operations & finishing processes) to achieve the output, quality, and cost goals of the organization.

      • Develop process control plans and gage R&Rs; perform capability studies, design experiments, and FMEA

      • Collect production data and apply standard scientific and statistical methods to analyze, document and diagram production processes.

      • Identify process bottlenecks and devise solutions to resolve them. Recommend changes or upgrades to equipment, work methods, or other aspects of the process to improve efficiency and utilization of resources, including labor, energy, and raw materials.

      • IATF: Responsible for understanding and complying with all site, corporate, regulatory, and procedural environmental, safety, security, health, quality, and human resources standards.

      Position Requirements

      • Bachelor of Science – Mechanical Engineering or similar

      • 3+ years of manufacturing experience in the automotive industry.

      • Advanced experience in the High-Pressure Die-casting manufacturing process – preferably secondary operations (Heat treatment, Straightening, coining, machining, polishing/grinding)

      • Proficient in 2D and GD&T

      • Perform dimensional analysis; implement corrective actions to improve dimensional capability. Complete understanding of casting tolerances and GD&T

      • Systematic problem-solving and corrective action management with a teamwork approach

      • Proven knowledge of Statistical techniques, Process control charts, data collection and analysis for problem resolution, and brainstorming techniques.

      • Good knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
