      Type of position: Trainee

      Your future role on the Advanced Fuels and Chemicals team

      Join BBA and make the most of your experience by actively contributing to the various phases of engineering projects, from the earliest stages of the business relationship to onsite equipment commissioning.

      This role will give you the opportunity to take the lead and show your leadership skills, while working in the thick of the action alongside talented people.

      As a member of the Advanced Fuels and Chemicals team, you'll get to work on projects involving biofuels, hydrogen, carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) and renewable chemicals. You’ll help develop innovative industrial projects focused on decarbonizing processes, recovering waste and integrating clean technologies.

      • Help draft process specifications, design criteria, PFDs, P&IDs, plant layouts, technical specifications, assessments and reports.
      • Participate in process design and equipment sizing.
      • Assist with site inspections and surveys.
      • Assess client satisfaction and maintain close, harmonious relationships with clients and their representatives.

      Summary of certifications and job requirements

      • Registered as an undergraduate student in chemical engineering
      • Knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
      • Ability to understand and interpret technical drawings
      • Strong mathematical abilities
      • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
      • Excellent spoken and written communication in both English and French
      • Asset: knowledge of the AspenTech Suite (HYSYS and Plus)
      • Asset: basic understanding of fluid mechanics and heat transfer

      Base hourly wage: $23 to $31
      The salary may vary depending on experience and your work location.
