  Dow is hiring for our Process Operators in Plaquemine, Louisiana!

  About you and this role
  Do you prefer a manufacturing role where you are able to work as an independent contributor on an empowered team? In this role, you will work in an integrated process operating environment where every day is unique. You will also be able to work in a team environment and be responsible for safely producing and ensuring high operational reliability to achieve plant and business goals. In this position you will operate assigned equipment and areas of the plant and perform operations-related activities following the plant work processes. You will utilize your chemical manufacturing knowledge and experience to run and troubleshoot the plant in a safe, reliable and efficient manner, working in a team environment where individuals often set priorities, and complete work activities with minimal supervision.

  Responsibilities - Duties, projects, tasks, and activities you would be responsible for in this role

  • Follow operating discipline principles, procedures, standards and practices to ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of assigned plant areas.
  • Operate process equipment and monitor process conditions, equipment and control systems.
  • Use troubleshooting skills to resolve process-related deviations and problems.
  • Coach and train others on plant operations.
  • Perform immediate response activities.

  Qualifications - Required education, experience and abilities that are needed for this role (must haves)

  • High School Diploma or GED AND 1 of the following is required:
    • 5 or more years of experience as Process Operator/Technician.
    • Process Technology degree with 2 years experience as Process Operator/Technician.
    • In lieu of degree, 3 or more years of relevant military experience.
  • Must possess a TWIC card or be eligible to obtain a TWIC card. For information on TWIC eligibility requirements, please see: https://www.tsa.gov/for-industry/twic (If unable to access link, copy and paste in your browser).
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work. legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

  Skills - Specific abilities and expertise required to perform tasks effectively in this role (must haves)

  • Technical Skills: The ability to operate both manual and highly automated equipment, as well as the desire to learn and grow technical skills to stay current with new automation and technology.
  • Troubleshooting Skills: The capability to resolve process-related deviations and problems efficiently.
  • Teamwork: The ability to work effectively in a team environment, communicate, and share information respectfully and professionally.
  • Leadership: Demonstrating leadership behaviors by setting high standards of personal excellence and safe work habits.
  • Time Management: Strong multi-tasking, problem-solving, and time management skills to handle various responsibilities and tasks.
  • Self-Motivation: Being self-motivated with high standards of personal integrity and a strong work ethic.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications: Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel, and the ability to learn new systems quickly.

  • Stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Work at heights, climb stairs and ladders.

  • Wear all required personal protective equipment, including but not limited to respirator, earplugs, goggles, and steel-toed shoes.
