- Provide Engineering support to Manufacturing, Quality, H&S (Health & Safety), Sales, Costing, and Maintenance on Reserve Power products, equipment, and tooling.
- Prepare and deliver information, technical reports, and presentations to management, vendors, and technical partners.
- Contribute to concept generation and ideation processes to develop new and optimize existing processes.
- Build batteries for engineering projects and evaluate new battery material and component (examples: plastics, separators, paste additives).
- Assist in recommending the disposition of nonconforming product.
- Manages and provides technical engineering support on small-scale/moderately complex projects from conception through completion, as assigned.
- Maintain and protect the confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Ensure high quality of work.
- Perform other duties which may become essential to the position.
- Participate in regular technical reviews throughout all phases of a project.
- Interact with production and engineering at all levels.
- Limited travel domestic and worldwide for the company may be required.
- Create, maintain, and update published specifications and technical information.
- Support other Reserve Power Engineering personnel as needed.
- Support daily operations of the existing manufacturing processes.
- Assist in tracking the performance and life compliance of products to ensure the product’s ability to fulfill EPM and customer compliance and safety requirements.
- 1-4 years of relevant engineering work experience, preferred.
- New engineering graduates capable of demonstrating a mastery of fundamental engineering skills will be considered.
- Familiarity with the lead battery construction process and chemistry preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering or scientific discipline.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to analyze problems and formulate alternative/creative solutions.
- Ability to effectively communicate with non-experts about technical requirements and features both in writing and verbally (including presentation skills).
- Ability to accurately document work instructions/lab reports and communicate results.
- Ability to read drawings and specifications.
- Strong interpersonal skills: a team player with the ability to work across functional areas, at all levels of the organization and with third party vendors.
- Proficient in multi-tasking, prioritizing, and managing time effectively; can work independently on multiple small-scale projects.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy; can effectively listen and follow directions accurately.
- Knowledge of Reserve power batteries and related applications.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Teams and Project.
- Knowledge of batteries and battery manufacturing.
- Knowledge of project management practices and tools to lead projects.
