Salary: £44,000 - £51,000 depending on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
Responsible for the execution of the end-to-end Procurement process for complex/strategically important Procurement Contract(s) from a range of Ship build systems and equipment:
• Developing and agreeing the procurement strategies for assigned Category/Contracts and responsibility for the delivery of procurement plans to quality, cost, and schedule requirements
• Managing the procurement contract with Supplier(s), lead supplier reviews, negotiate any contract change, investigate, and resolve claims for delay or poor performance
• Identifying and delivering opportunities for continuous improvement including proactive risk & opportunity management and cost savings
• Maintaining all procurement business systems with quality, accurate information relating to procurement activity, including ongoing cost analysis for EAC work and robust contract management feeding into the Control Account Management structure where required and as delegated
• Managing the supplier payment process and resolving any goods received issues
Your skills and experiences:
ESSENTIALS
· Experience of managing a complex procurement contract in a delivery phase
· Experience of direct procurement in a similar industry
· Excellent supplier and stakeholder management skills
· Ability to proactively identify, manage and mitigate procurement risk
· Strong communicator with the ability to influence outside the team
DESIRABLES
· MCIPS qualified or equivalent, working towards CIPS or suitable experience in a relevant role
· Experience of Project Management methodologies and techniques
