      Manager, Procurement – Capital Construction

      Location: GSK House, Stevenage

      Flexible working available (Office 2-3 days a week)

      As a Manager, Procurement – Capital Construction you will be accountable for delivering procurement of key Capex projects across Workplace Real Estate & Facilities group. The WREF Capex projects consist of new buildings, building fitout or renovation for R&D laboratories, Offices and Infrastructure.

      Key Responsibilities:

      This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:

      • Be the Capital Procurement lead for the Workplace Real Estate and Facilities capital portfolio, worldwide with a focus in the UK & US regions
      • Support significant annual spend of WREF Capex projects, with a focus in UK and US representing 97% of WREF Capex spend. 76% of WREF projects are below £1m (total project cost) and R&D projects represent 70% of WREF Capex plan
      • Support and implement WREF Procurement Capital Strategy designed to ensure that GSK’s capital projects deliver value to the business
      • Ensure Procurement resources are aligned with WREF programs and strategic projects
      • Ensure proper sourcing and contract management by Third Parties as per GSK Procurement process
      • Define SRM program with key suppliers including contract performance and governance
      • Conduct complex sourcing and negotiations for global categories and assigned portfolios to deliver projects on schedule and within budget
      • Benchmark externally to ensure GSK practices and strategies are aligned with current market practices
      • Build strong internal collaboration & sponsorship with stakeholders to deliver the ambition
      • Collaborate within team and key stakeholders to deploy strategies globally/regionally, facilitated by robust implementation and transition plans
      • Generate value in terms of quality, delivery, and cost; contribute significantly to organization’s goals and objectives
      • Manage and reduce a pool of suppliers worldwide through preferred supplier usage

      • Bachelors Degree in Procurement, Business, Finance, Engineering
      • Capital program procurement across multiple regions, ideally focused on the UK and US markets
      • Capital projects, ideally in context of corporate office fit-out and/or life science laboratories
      • Agile learner capable of creating and implementing category strategies
      • Navigation of complex organizations with multiple, diverse stakeholders
      • Ability to work in a matrix environment with a flexible approach to meet stakeholders needs
      • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks across multiple projects using project management skills
      • Delivering quality, compliant, timely, well-specified agreements
      • Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships
      • Ability to effectively use negotiation and conflict resolution skills
      • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks across multiple projects using project management skills
      • Ability to provide effective procurement management in complex organizations using technical expertise and analytical skills
