      Job Description Per Diem (On-Call)

      Purchases routine requisitioned supplies, equipment, services, and other items necessary for all business units at the best possible price. Contacts vendors and shippers to ensure merchandise, supplies and equipment are forwarded by specified shipping dates. Assists in maintaining and updating MMIS databases for all entities. Facilitates the delivery of high quality customer service for immediate support and service needs that are not being handled through one of the Contract Managers.

      Job Responsibility

      • Places and verifies purchase orders from electronic requisitions and computer order forecasts with assigned vendors; investigates any discrepancies related to purchasing, receiving, or invoicing and resolves with appropriate internal and/or external parties.
      • Verifies orders for delivery within established deadlines and expedites open orders as necessary.
      • Works with business unit personnel to identify, clarify, and establish product specifications; performs competitive bidding and price comparisons on all requested items not covered under a contract at the lowest reasonable cost.
      • Prepares shipping documents to be sent back to the vendor for inaccurate shipments and product returns.
      • Routinely reviews copies of agreements and contracts up for renewal and notifies appropriate contract manager as required; supports the Materials Management Information System as a help desk resource for application.
      • Assists in maintaining materials management database on application software system including the item master, item location, manufacturer codes, and requisitions if specifically authorized by the leadership.
      • Prioritizes telephone calls requesting assistance; alerts management to issues or concerns that require escalation.
      • Educates the customer about procurement services and directs them toward available resources for further assistance.
      • Participates in training programs as new product lines are contracted.

      Job Qualification

      • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
      • 1-3 years of relevant experience, required.
      • OR/Clinical experience Preferred in Inventory setting
