      We are currently seeking a Procurement Specialist!

      Essential duties and responsibilities for the Procurement Specialist include, but are not limited to:

      • Draft, assemble and issue request for proposal (RFP) packages to suppliers / subcontractors • Expedite suppliers / subcontractors / engineering input, as appropriate• Support S&L clients in their procurement processes• Evaluate proposals from suppliers / subcontractors• Perform risk assessments on potential and existing subcontracts• Negotiate and finalize terms and conditions, including those related to indemnities, warranties, liabilities, pricing, schedule, etc.• Create purchase orders in S&L’s internal vendor management systems• Manage and administer the subcontract life cycle process for assigned projects• Monitor and evaluate contract performance• Record keeping / document control with audit involvement• Processing vendor invoices for payment• Coordinate and work closely with engineering project managers, suppliers, contractors, subcontractors and client personnel

      This position allows for a hybrid work schedule with the expectation of 3 days in our Warrenville, IL office and 2 days working remotely from home.

      Qualifications

      Essential skills and experience:

      • Bachelor's Degree
      • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in procurement and/or contract administration
      • Strong written, verbal, & people communication skills
      • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with project managers, engineers, clients, suppliers and contractors as necessary
      • MS Office Suite proficiency

      Valued but not required skills and experience:

      • Power industry experience supporting large power generation, substation or transmission line projects
      • CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) and/or C.P.M (Certified Purchasing Manager) designation
      • Experience with Deltek Costpoint and MS Outlook
