      Shopbop seeks a dynamic Art Director to support the creative vision for our on-figure photography studio in our Madison, WI studio. The ideal candidate will bring a sophisticated eye for fashion imagery and exceptional ability to direct talent while collaborating with our creative team to produce compelling e-commerce content.

      Key job responsibilities
      • Direct on-figure photo shoots, providing clear guidance on pose direction, movement, and shot composition
      • Lead creative collaboration with Photographers, Stylists, and Hair/Makeup Artists to achieve cohesive, elevated imagery
      • Communicate and execute creative vision while maintaining Shopbop's aesthetic standards • Guide models to achieve natural movement and authentic expression that resonates with our customer
      • Make real-time decisions regarding shot selection, cropping, and composition
      • Stay current with fashion photography trends and implement innovative approaches while maintaining commercial viability
      • Develop and maintain style guides and SOPs to ensure consistency across shoots
      • Contribute to broader creative strategy discussions and seasonal planning
      • Partner with studio leadership to evolve and unify our creative approach
      • Support cross-departmental initiatives within Creative Operations as needed
      • 3+ years of relevant Art Direction experience, preferably in fashion or e-commerce
      • Proven ability to clearly communicate creative direction to diverse teams
      • Strong understanding of fashion photography, styling, and current market trends
      • Excellence in managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
      • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Capture One, and Microsoft Office
      • Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Photography, or related field
      • Portfolio demonstrating strong fashion perspective and creative vision
      • Superior attention to detail and commitment to quality
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
      • Experience directing fashion models and on-figure photography
      • Understanding of post-production workflow and retouching requirements
      • Knowledge of web optimization and digital asset management
      • Background in fashion styling or merchandising
      • Demonstrated success in elevating brand aesthetic while maintaining commercial goals
      • Experience developing and documenting creative standards
