      Job Description

      We're seeking an experienced Product Developer to manage the development of our product lines. The primary objective for this role is to work with our manufacturers to turn tech packs into final proto samples within our seasonal calendar timelines. Developers are responsible for ensuring the final product meets (or exceeds) our quality standards, margin requirements and deadline expectations. Our ideal candidate is someone with at least three years of relevant experience in the fashion industry, coupled with a passion for creating amazing products that challenge the status quo.



      Responsibilities
      • Design unique and innovative products that coincide with the UNRL brand aesthetic and meet our quality standards
      • Build out comprehensive tech packs with clear instructions to turn design concepts into final production-ready prototypes
      • Act as the main point of contact with our suppliers; Communicate product details, timelines and other pertinent information
      • Track and project manage developments to ensure seasonal deadlines are met; Communicate updates across departments to keep all stakeholders informed
      • Evaluate prototypes for Design, Fit, Fabric & Trims; Send evaluation comments to suppliers and fine-tune each garment until it is production-ready
      • Curate inspiration decks, line sheets and assortment plans for seasonal collections; Research and identify trends to stay ahead of the athleisure industry
      • Measure garments to compare actuals against requested specs; Perform fit evaluations to analyze and adjust specs until the perfect fit is achieved
      • Initiate internal and 3rd party testing (wash & wear tests) to ensure the functionality and durability of each garment
      • Establish target pricing and costing for new products; Work with suppliers to ensure gross margin requirements are met
      • Source new suppliers, fabrics and trims globally to ensure we are on the cutting edge of new innovations
      • Work with factories to ensure bulk quality matches the quality of approved prototypes; Enforce AQL standards within our factories and initiate internal quality inspections as shipments are received
      • Hand off final samples to Marketing team accompanied by a product brief summarizing the key details for marketing campaigns
      • Manage and organize proto samples, lab dips, fabric swatches, trims and other materials


      Requirements

      • 3-5 years of experience in Product Development or related field (clothing industry preferred)
      • Keen eye for identifying quality designs, textiles, trims, and workmanship
      • Experienced in measuring garments and creating spec sheets; Experience with grading tables is preferred but not required
      • Project management skills; Deadline and detail oriented
      • Strong communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills
      • Ability to effectively multi-task, prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment
      • Proficient graphic design skills with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator)
      • Experience with analyzing spreadsheets and understanding costs and gross margins
      • Passion for sports and athleisure apparel is preferred
