      Hilco Vision is searching for a Product Engineer to join the team! This is a very diverse role that entails a mix of product testing, engineering, quality and program management. This engineer would assist in the sustainability of all Hilco Vision products to ensure they meet corporate quality standards as defined by product management, customers and national/global standards (ANSI, CSA, CE, ASTM, or FDA). This engineering role will work closely with regulatory and product management teams.

      A Little Bit About You:

      • 2-5 years’ experience in the manufacturing industry with optical industry preferred.
      • 2-5 years’ experience with new product development.
      • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering is required along with a strong understanding of engineering fundamentals.
      • Familiarity with DFMEA and PFMEA; strong aptitude for troubleshooting issues, determining root cause and implementing robust solution in design.
      • Experience with advanced 3D CAD and SolidWorks modeling software.
      • Basic experience with advanced excel and Microsoft tools
      • Meticulous attention to details.
      • Excellent communication skills written and verbal.
      • Positive attitude with ready to learn and help develop new processes.
      • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

      What You’ll Do and How You’ll Make an Impact:

      • Work closely with optical lab technicians to review safety frame testing process and scope of improvement within the product.
      • Assist in the manufacturing process of optical products, ensuring quality and performance standards are met
      • Prepare product verification and validation data for product approval.
      • Coordinate 3rd party testing with UL, Colts, Intertek and others.
      • Conduct weekly review meetings to discuss product evaluation reports.
      • Review and rectify product bill of materials and spec sheets.
      • Collaborate with marketing and product management teams to develop and implement go-to-market strategies for new product launches
      • Build and evaluate prototypes to ensure they meet design specifications
      • Perform market analysis on competing products and brands as well as value engineer our products to save on total COGS.
      • Validate design concepts through simulations and analyses
      • Develop and execute engineering test plans to verify compliance with product functional specifications and regulatory requirements.
      • Work with domestic and overseas manufacturing partners to develop manufactural designs.
      • Specify and evaluate product packaging.
      • Perform detailed analysis of competitor products to identify strengths and weaknesses, and incorporate findings into product development
      • Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve product value without compromising quality

      Physical Requirements:

      • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
      • Stand for several hours during ongoing floor projects.
      • Work in an office environment.
