Job Description

- Relying on his coordination role, the Product Engineer will set up the front to back operating model underpinning the portfolio (funds, mandates …) with the various internal stakeholders (fund manager, sales team, legal, risk, compliance, finance, operational support, etc) and external third parties (trade support, asset servicing, custodians, administrators, transfer agents, lawyers, auditors, etc)
- The Product Engineer is also in charge of coordinating projects like mergers, liquidations, creations of new share classes, implementation of new instruments, change of custodians, administrators, transfer agents or investment teams.
- The Product Engineer ensures the smooth operation of the event being managed and will oversee post-launch support to address any issues that arise.
- The Product Engineer is responsible for preparing the New Portfolio Launch Note, which details the complete operating model, and for securing its validation from stakeholders
- The Product Engineer supports the Distribution/RFP team in the description of operating model embedded in the answers to RFP and supports Product Management for the operational set up of pooled funds.
- The Product Engineer may contribute the operational review of the portfolio 6 months after its launch.
- The Product Engineer provides insights on the processes followed by the Product Engineering team, identifies areas for improvement and adequate solutions. This responsibility applies to both internal team projects—such as updating guides, technological advancements and processes—and external projects.
- The Product Engineer may take on the role of an expert, being approached by internal teams to address complex operational structuring, propose suitable operational solutions, and ensure their implementation.
- The Product Engineer supports the Global New Business Committee (GNBC), when necessary, by animating meeting, challenging the content of each proposal, ensuring all stakeholders review the proposal
- The Product Engineer is able to give a synthetic briefing regarding all aspects of the proposal to the representative of the Management Board empowered to chair the GNBC
- Educated to degree level, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial industry, ideally in an Asset Management environment
- Knowledge of different asset classes and investment strategies managed by AXA IM
- Knowledge of the operational set up of a new portfolio (fund, mandate …)
- At ease in written and oral expression (minimum: French + English)
- Analytical mind able to formalise the big picture
- Leadership and confidence in front of a large audience and in front of the top management
- Autonomous, rigorous and well organized
- Project management skills
- Interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively as part of a team, but also ability to lead and motivate
