      Overview

      As a co-op / intern, you will gain industry experience and make a real impact on our business while working within the product engineering team. Over a semester or summer, you will develop your engineering skills, embrace challenging tasks, and learn from experienced engineers.

      Essential Functions

      With direct supervision, responsible for aiding in the design, evaluation, and validation of new and existing quick coupling technologies. This includes identifying improvements in cost, enhancing performance, creating and conducting product testing procedures. PE interns will utilize fundamental principles of mechanical, electrical, industrial, or other engineering disciplines.

      • Conduct analysis and modeling – 3D CAD and 2D detail drawings – engage in product design, perform engineering calculations, and develop + execute testing plans.
      • You will learn the essential steps needed to design new products from initial concept to to development to launch.
      • Acquire knowledge of various engineering department’s operations, functions, responsibilities, and workflow.
      • Observe work assignments performed by others and actively participate in hands-on projects and/or special assignments.
      • Maintain communication with program coach/mentor (if assigned) to provide feedback on departmental assignments and program improvements.
      • Attend related training (if provided) and apply training in work assignments.
      • Perform other related responsibilities.

      Qualifications

      • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in a related engineering field such as: Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Systems Engineering.
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and CAD systems such as Solidworks, Creo, ANSYS, etc.
      • Ability to work in a hands-on lab environment. Familiarity with hand tools preferred.
      • Ability to work throughout calendar year, internship expectation is 15 to 20 hours during school and up to 40 hours while on break.
      • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
      • Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team member.
