  Purpose and Objective:

  SAP Labs, LLC seeks a Product Expert at our Palo Alto, CA location to be responsible for the success, quality, cost management and delivery of a product, product group or complex project in the whole product lifecycle as defined in the portfolio.

  Expectations and Tasks:

  Contribute to the efficiency, effectiveness and improvement of processes used in own area. Monitor market tendencies and technology trends. Analyze technology trends and customer requirements to identify growth opportunities for SAP. Contribute to business case, develop and drive a product vision and a product roadmap. Constantly evaluate competitive products on basis of publicly available information to ensure product is on-par or competitive in the current market. Conduct interviews and participate in customer events. Ensure customer input into all product definitions. Own and prioritize product backlog which reflects customer and user needs in order to achieve competitive advantage and increase the value for the customer. Provide holistic overview on overall product backlog and ensure product team and related Scrum teams have a comprehensive understanding of the product backlog. Drive holistic product vision and product design and ensures all product teams have a comprehensive understanding of it. Develop test cases and/or conduct expert testing and validate planned and implemented scope throughout product lifecycle and ensure delivery of high quality software.

  Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:

  Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related field and 7 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Employer will also accept a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

  Work Experience:

  Experience must involve 5 years in each of the following:

  • Product management, product design, and roadmap definition;
  • Scrum or Agile methodology and Lean Development, wire-framing and prototyping, project management with JIRA;
  • Customer engagement, requirement prioritization, and delivery management;
  • Source code version control using Git and GitHub;
  • SAP Business Technology Platform, SAP S/4HANA, and SAP Fiori;
  • HTML5/CSS, JavaScript/AJAX, jQuery, SAPUI5; and
  • JAVA, XML/JSON, Web Services, SOAP/REST/OData.

  Compensation Range Transparency: The annual base salary range for this position is $185,723 - $240,834. SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is $185,723 - $302,400. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
