      Location – Remote - must reside in any KP market (California, Oregon, Washington, Hawaii, Colorado, Georgia, Maryland, Virginia or Washington DC).

      Department Description:

      The National Product Design and Management organization optimizes our health plan product and capability portfolio to support Kaiser Permanente’s overarching growth and retention business objectives. The National Product Design and Management team drives the vision, strategy, design, and execution of Kaiser Permanente’s product suite across the end-to-end product development and management life-cycle. We are structured to support national and regional product and capability needs utilizing common tools and analytic models to ensure consistent and effective work. The Core Medical Product team is responsible the strategic development and management of the HMO-based products across the Kaiser Permanente markets.

      Project Description:

      The intern would (under supervision) drive one or more workstreams on a National product initiative. The main focus will be on assessing the target audience's needs to inform and influence project deliverables (including external messaging and communication) to ensure the optimal member experience. May also provide market and data analysis support to other concepts under assessment. This opportunity provides a first-hand understanding of the end-to-end components of a health plan, exposure to the intricacies of working with internal & external partners to reach a common goal, and experience in getting a health plan initiative to market.

      Desired Majors:

      Computer Science, Business Administration, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or Data Science;

      Preferred Skillsets:

      Critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, data analysis, project management, MS Office (XLS, PPT, Power BI)..

      Essential Responsibilities:

      • Contributing to a designated project or initiative to meet a KP business objective.
      • Report development and analytics.
      • Project management - planning, execution, and measurement.
      • Learning new applications needed to complete assignments or support the execution of business objectives.
      • Job shadowing in other functional areas.
      • Performing additional duties as required.

      • Pursuing a graduate degree or have completed a graduate program from an accredited university within the last year.

      • Aptitude to perform data and process analytics and formulating solutions.
      • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
      Preferred Qualifications:
      • 3.0 GPA or above
      • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
      • Proven ability to build effective working relationships as well as strong interpersonal skills
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
      • Ability to learn quickly and experience producing high quality work in short periods of time.
