      Job Description:

      The Product Management Intern supports the product development process as a part of the overall product management domain.

      This role uses customer feedback, business strategy, data/analytics, user experience, and technology to create positive, effective customer experiences. Responsible for supporting the research and discovery of products, specifically for shopping experience on large consumer facing websites including Autotrader.com and KBB.com.

      Strategy/Discovery:

      · Gains familiarity with Product Management concepts, practices, and methodologies.

      Planning:

      · With guidance, performs standard Product Manager duties, including:

      • Client and market research for product-related evaluation and planning.

      • Conducting analysis and research to understand customer, market, and product application

      • information.

      • Supporting team efforts to develop and refine product vision and functional requirements.

      • Engaging with technical, product and other colleagues on product design, project planning, development, release, and execution.

      • Preparing and distributing project status updates.

      • Post-project evaluation.

      • Learns and applies the company’s Product Management standards and policies.

      · Understands the “why” behind each Feature and works with the Product Managers to understand the roadmap and supporting KPIs.

      · Partners with Product Manager to provide input into business case documentation.

      • Requirements Analysis – Foundational knowledge of and ability to elicit, analyze and document required business requirements. Engages with the customers, users, and other stakeholders to gather requirements. Utilizes appropriate methods, tools, and techniques for requirements analysis. Challenges, and manages conflicts and expectations associated with requirements analysis.

      • System and Technology Integration – Foundational knowledge of technology system features and facilities and the ability to integrate and communicate among applications, databases, and platforms. Works with existing interfaces as well as integration and migration plans within own area and across aligned/associated areas. Explores major issues and considerations for successful system integration. Plays an active role in current and planned integration efforts.

      • Technology Savvy – Foundational knowledge of technology and its ability to improve work processes and results (e.g., enhance productivity, efficiency, collaboration, quality, or customer satisfaction). Skilled in using technology to solve work-related problems and create new business opportunities. Pursues opportunities to develop knowledge and experiments with emerging technology solutions that can help accomplish work goals. Serves as a resource to help others understand and anticipate the impact of technology on current processes, products, and services.

      EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

      • Bachelor’s Degree in related field (in progress)

      • Working knowledge of Product specialty/job area, principles, concepts, and practices.

      • Strong writing ability.

      • Some experience in design, development and implementation of product plans.

      • Some experience in full product lifecycle methodologies.

      • Some experience in in conducting competitive research and analysis.

      • Some experience in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment
