- Builds and maintains a prioritized product roadmap that aligns with business goals, operational requirements, and budgetary constraints.
- Takes full responsibility for the development, support, and maintenance lifecycle for products in their product portfolio.
- Responsible for hiring, training, ongoing supervision, coaching, and goal setting for Product Owner(s) and/or Product Analyst(s). Develops and delivers performance reviews, initiates and follow-through with performance management and discipline up to and including terminations.
- Focuses teams involved in product development on business outcomes before project output.
- Builds and maintains a shared understanding of the business goals, user needs, and desired outcomes; communicates that understanding broadly within the organization.
- Partners with stakeholders to make high-level product decisions by aggregating data, user experience information, process diagrams, technical requirements, and business goals. Responsible for presenting relevant data to the stakeholders, formulating Powell’s product portfolios, and facilitating product discussions. It is the Product Manager's job to direct the decision-making process and to ensure that decisions get made.
- Responsible for continually monitoring progress and measuring the business outcomes of product development efforts. Compiles user feedback and integrates that information into the ongoing product development process.
- Works with the Product Management team to coordinate development efforts that impact shared business systems. Collaborates on product management processes and shares lessons learned across the product portfolios.
- Builds relationships with stakeholders to understand the goals and expectations for the business over the next 1 to 3 years.
- Performs market research including competitor research, trends, and new technologies.
- Defines and analyzes metrics that inform the success of software products. Uses analytical knowledge to develop, communicate, and drive decisions based on available data.
- Develops and maintain strong relationships and communication with all team stakeholders.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Advanced knowledge of and experience in Powell’s systems and processes or several years’ experience in product management.
- Demonstrated experience defining and measuring business value at a high level for each product enhancement identified.
- Leadership skills necessary to hire, supervise, inspire, lead, and train others.
- Experience consulting stakeholders to successfully deliver large scale projects or programs.
- Experienced with disciplined agile software development and continuous delivery strongly preferred.
- Act upon opportunities and involve and influence others in the accomplishment of worthwhile organizational goals.
- Uses independent, creative thinking to see the big picture, the small details, and how they interrelate.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills promoting vision, features, value and clarity on delivery expectations.
- Absolute ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
- Satisfactory results from criminal background check required.

The Product Manager is responsible for developing and delivering reliable, secure, and cost-effective software products to internal users and Powell's customers. They are responsible for ensuring that products are developed, managed, and deployed using technology, tools, platforms, and processes that conform to Powell's security standards. The Product Manager engages with the business to create the highest value software features that lead to improved business outcomes. They are comfortable working hands-on with sophisticated technologies and must be able to articulate the value to stakeholders of the products they build. Exercising independent discretion, the Product Manager partners with users, business stakeholders, software developers, and support staff from product ideation to delivery to find short-term wins and define a long-term roadmap strategy. They work under broadly established parameters and have wide latitude in decision-making authority. They are cross-functional leaders who work collaboratively with Software Development teams to develop continuously measurable value to the business. The Product Manager provides oversight to one or more Agile Product Teams and directly supervises the Product Owner and Product Analyst positions. Reports to CTO.
