Education: Bachelor’s degree (B. A. / B. S.) in Marketing, Finance, Communications, Sciences or equivalent.
Experience: 1-3 years’ experience working in Biopharma Production industry to understand competitive landscape. Five years’ experience working with customers and cross functionally with R & D, manufacturing, regulatory affairs and sales. Previous experience identifying market opportunities and determining feasibility.
IT skills: good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel)
Language: you communicate fluently in English
Experience and Knowledge in doing business with a good understanding of strategy development for the biopharma industry
Product management, marketing strategy and product launch planning skills will also be beneficial.
You are able to think strategically, while also possessing the tactical skills to implement
You have the demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities
You are customer focused and dedicated to meet the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers
You work with others to execute plans; strong ability to influence others
Conduct market analysis, competitor analysis, market strategy, and product portfolio strategy for Biopharma markets with a focus on the European region. Make recommendations to leadership with supporting data to develop and drive the product roadmaps and pipeline strategy for portfolio markets/products.
Provide support and direction for product line rationalization and support to the supply chain group with implementation for European produced product codes.
Establish close relationships with customers, field and inside sales to keep abreast of emerging market trends and opportunities and offer support on product related queries and concerns.
Support timely execution of new product development efforts with focus on value capture and adherence to financial projections.
Work with marketing communications to develop clear and concise collateral (FAQs, presentations, case studies, white papers, etc.) to assist commercial team in communicating value to customers (both for existing products and new product launches).
Monitor the product margins ensure profit goals are met; develop and implement plans to optimize profitability.
Recommend pricing for products in the context of market and competitive conditions, value to customer, pricing strategy, geographic location, product cost, and internal (manufacturing) capability.
Support monthly S&OP through product line forecast validation and aid in issue resolution.
Initiate and manage new product set ups and material change management to support the growth and maintenance of EU BPP product line.
The Opportunity:
Avantor is looking for a Product Manager to join our Biopharma Production business unit. In this role you will focus on the Biopharma Production Chemicals product line and enable profitable growth for the business unit by assisting Product Management leadership with execution of operational and strategic initiatives. You are responsible for supporting new business opportunities, product line profitability analysis, asset utilization optimization, demand forecasting, and project management for tactical / strategic initiatives.
You will join a global team where you will focus on the European region and you will also travel to customer sites and production sites within Europe (approximately 25% of your time).
