The Product Manager is responsible for understanding and scoping customer requirements, and working across the People Analytics & Culture (PA&C) team to develop impactful products. The primary products in scope for this role will be delivered via People insights and the Management Pack Creator (MPC) platform. In addition, the Product Manager will be required to translate the value that the product to the customer, and ensure that they have considered appropriate business context and narrative. The role holder will support the VP Product Manager with interactions with the customer, and will support to bridge the gap between PA&C with other HR TCs and business stakeholders. Additionally, the Product Manager will be required to work alongside our Account Management team in managing messages back to the customer and our Product Development team in supporting with the delivery of products.The role requires relationship management skills to understand and govern customer needs as well as technical skills to direct product development. This will often involve translating vague/basic requirements into specific technical requirements easily understood by the product development team. The role will also require a deep understanding of both People insights and MPC in order to assess the feasibility and complexity of requirements in real time discussions with customers and Account Managers.
What will you be doing?
Product Ownership (70%)
• Work with PA&C sub-services and key stakeholders to define the scope and requirements for each product, documenting these clearly and concisely, translating as needed for the Product Development team
• Project manage the product development by leading team members within PA&C and wider HR colleagues, utilising agile delivery techniques where appropriate
• Support the future development of products from idea creation through production and adoption. Act as the product owner for the delivery of insight solutions, working closely with the Product Development team to translate customer requirements into impactful products.
• Data understanding: help identify the data required for specific products; become an SME with regards to relevant data, partnering closely with the HR Chief Data Office and Product Development team to prioritise against the delivery plan.
• Lead on significant product launches managing critical business readiness activity such as training materials, communications to stakeholders and running product demonstrations.
• Lead on testing of products, ensuring these are fit for purpose and meet customer requirements, feeding back changes and issues to the Product Development teamRelationship & Stakeholder Management (20%)
• Partner with key stakeholders including Account Management team, managing expectations of product roadmap.
• Build business case and project documentation to enable work is prioritised across PA&C demand.
• Able to build organisational knowledge and a collaborative network of internal relationships to achieve objectives and overcome challenges.
• Communication: manage stakeholder engagement and expectations closely throughout any project activity.Analytics Stewardship & Data Governance (10%)
• Be an ambassador for PA&C in promoting the PA&C service across HR, educating the broader HR Function on the benefits the service can deliver.
• Develop wider analytics knowledge utilising internal and external resources available across PA&C.
• Support the upskilling of HR colleagues in using data led insights and analytics to drive decision making through ongoing engagement, education and the adoption of PA&C products.
• Ensure all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards.
• Understand and adhere to HR data privacy, governance and control policies particularly in relation to data storage and deliveryWhat we’re looking for:
o Product ownership - understand the product life cycle and common pitfalls, as well as how to lead agile multi-disciplinary teams in the delivery of products.
o Relationship management - excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills. Experience managing stakeholders and the business, and be able to adapt style accordingly.
o Story-telling - ability to translate complex technical detail into simple, compelling narratives that lead the customer to tangible actions they can take to address business challenges.
o Microsoft Office - Excel and experience of producing executive level presentations in PowerPoint.
o Problem Solving – Ability to lead investigations into data issues and bugs within our reporting platforms
o Minimum Basic Education Requirement - Graduate in any discipline
Skills that will help you in the role:o Business partnering – experience in working with business stakeholders (HR domain preferable, not essential), that’s involved influencing and managing stakeholder requirements and expectations.
o Commercial acumen - strong understanding of how corporate organisations operate, including a good level of commercial knowledge (business strategy, financials) to help inform how products can impact commercial outcomes.
o Change management – knowing what steps to take to enable the successful launch and adoption of products.
o Data tools & platforms - experience of working with MI Direct Access Tools (e.g. dashboards) and data platforms, understanding of the benefits and solutions they provide.Where will you be working?
