Serve as the owner of NGRP as a platform, which means closely collaborating with all Product Managers (as several Products are built on top of the platform) and business stakeholders. Negotiating and prioritizing across Products/stakeholders is critical to success.
Act as the voice of the business to guide all stages of software development, including user story development, PI planning, and prioritization of the product backlog.
Work closely with Product Managers and business stakeholders to develop a strong understanding of the business needs; identify and prioritize features to be delivered to meet those needs within a timely manner.
Responsible for influencing business stakeholders to make decisions/compromises and for holding development teams accountable for delivering committed priorities.
Develop a deep understanding of the business value of every feature/enhancement, to strategically prioritize work and gain stakeholder buy in.
Maintain a constant pulse on the platform, to anticipate risks and potential delays.
Understand the full capacity of all development teams and strategically decide how to best utilize this capacity to its fullest.
Work with Product Managers and technical stakeholders to develop and document epics and user stories within Jira.
Prioritize and maintain the product backlog based on close collaboration with Product Managers and Scrum Masters.
Participate in SAFe ceremonies such as PI-Planning, backlog refinements, and team retrospectives; ensure the teams have a clear understanding of priorities and next steps.
Analyze feedback from sprint reviews, and other data such as end user feedback and operational metrics, to identify and understand future product needs.
Set expectations with business stakeholders for delivery of new capabilities, features, and functionalities.
Exceptional relationship building and collaboration skills across diverse and matrixed stakeholders.
Ability to surface, prioritize, and balance multiple stakeholder/business priorities.
Strong project management skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Experience determining and overseeing software development initiatives and estimating resource requirements.
Strong technical background is required. Experience working with architects and architecture design patterns is preferred.
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, including experience leveraging data to inform decision making.
Expertise in strategic thinking and strong business acumen.
Strong experience in understanding business partner and customer needs.
Demonstrated success in defining and building products, preferably experience managing a cloud platform and domain driven design.
Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information in a condensed manner to various stakeholders verbally and in writing.
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent years of experience) in Engineering or Computer Science.
5+ years of leading development teams or solution architecture experience
5+ years of product management or related experience.
Product Owner certifications (e.g. Certified Scrum Product Owner, SAFe Product Owner Certification) are a plus.
Experience with Jira and Miro is preferred.
Strong knowledge of Cloud environments, such as Azure, is strongly recommended.
Job Description
Circle K is seeking an experienced Product Manager to own our Next Generation Retail Platform (NGRP). NGRP is our proprietary cloud services platform that powers Circle K’s digital experiences across the globe. This person will serve as the voice of the business to successfully guide development teams in building software capabilities with the highest business and customer impact. They will represent business needs/priorities and prioritize and manage the product backlog for the entire platform (strategically coordinating across multiple Product Managers). They will be responsible for incorporating feedback from business stakeholders to guide continuous product improvement. Circle K follows the SAFe framework and expects this person to participate in PI Planning and related ART Ceremonies.
This role will report up through the Emerging Technologies team. The Emerging Tech team is the newest team within Global Tech and is responsible for owning innovative digital products at scale. This is a global role that will require working with stakeholders across both North America and Europe.
