      We’re looking for an amazing Product Manager, Shore Excursions to fill this role, which is a hybrid role and can be based in our Seattle, WA or Miami, FL offices. You’ll be responsible for owning and developing destination-based guest programs for Holland America Line & Seabourn, including shore excursions and overland journeys from strategic planning to launch and delivery, while meeting performance and cost criteria within a specified budget and timeframe. You’ll conduct quality control, risk management, margin analysis, industry/market research, and performance measurement to determine product demand, viability, and profitability of product offerings. You’ll oversee product demand, viability, utilization, and profitability of tours. You’ll also develop, implement, and evolve a diverse shore excursion program guided by our brand framework across a broad spectrum of ports with a primary focus on value, delivery, and guest satisfaction.

      Responsibilities

      • Maintain and actively monitor lines of communication with the On Board Revenue department, Tour Operators, and seagoing Shore Excursion teams in order to troubleshoot and problem-solve operational issues, including but not limited to: guest incidents, guest service issues, program revision (political issues, strikes, change in flights), guests visa issues, port changes or cancelations. Serve as the escalation point for product and services issues - delegate and follow through to resolution
      • Select, evaluate, and manage vendor partnerships. Use these relationships, along with data analytics, to solve problems and achieve business goals. Negotiate competitive rates with vendors and adhere to company developed procurement standards.
      • Analyze vessel voyage reports, online guest reviews, tour escort reports, guest communication, and guest comment ratings.
      • Follow up with tour operators when corrective action is required and track results. Review and investigate root cause of high priority problem issues; implement processes to reduce the risk of similar issues in the future. Ensure all contracted services have proper legal back-up and insurance requirements are met.
      • Use expert knowledge to guide the Itinerary Planning & Development Dept. in their itinerary development process to maximize revenue opportunities in port and across itineraries. Share product summaries and port information to Marketing and Public Relations for promotion purposes.
      • Communicate business requirements and expectations to develop strategic direction for both the shoreside and onboard teams. Guide and delegate responsibilities to Specialists in overall process of product development and provide mentoring.


      Requirements

      • Minimum 3 years’ experience in product development with an emphasis on tourism preferred and/or cruise line experience.
      • Worldwide destination and port knowledge required.
      • Shipboard/Hospitability Industry experience preferred.
      • Experience with forecasting, analyzing data, and financial information.
      • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. MXP/database experience preferred.
      • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and problem solve in a deadline-oriented atmosphere.
      • Flexibility in terms of dealing with changing priorities and dealing with multiple projects simultaneously.
      • Analytical and results oriented.
      • Proven negotiating skills.
      • Adept at developing vendor relationships and able to interact effectively with people of different culture and backgrounds.
      • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Holland America is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-1B status).

      • Base Salary Range: $63,700 to $86,000. The range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. Final base salary is directly related to each candidates' qualifications and experience uniquely.
