      About the business

      Retail Banking Services (RBS) provides simple, convenient and affordable banking and general insurance products and services to personal and private bank customers, helping them manage their everyday banking needs, buy a home, protect their assets or invest for the future.

      In the Customer Engagement & Digital team within RBS , w e are responsible for leading our retail end-to-end digital-first customer experience strategy, driving innovation, improving customer engagement and creating new business opportunities through partnerships, ventures and the Group’s digital ecosystem.

      About the role and team

      This digital team consists of seven crews that are aligned with business products and operations. There are several Product Owner roles available across multiple crews .

      Each Product Owner of our full stack squads will need experience in product strategy, have excellent prioritisation skills and excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills.

      Here are some of the available roles (at both Senior M anager and M anager level) . We will match successful candidates with the role that most aligns with their skills and experience.

      PO - Technology Foundations Core & Web Foundations

      As P roduct O wner of this full stack squad, y ou will be responsible for driving technology initiatives that empower a very large engineering community to deliver at pace. This Product Owner is accountable for setting and executing the technology strategy for the A PI and Web experiences , developing new features while maintaining ownership of existing features, experiences, and applications . Importantly , this Product Owner will also need to champion reduction of tech debt , production support, and continuous improvement.

      Platform/technology domain experience will be advantageous given this Product Owner's 'customers' will be other product development teams.

      PO – Technology Foundations Platform Modernisation

      A new major program of work that seeks to decompose a monolithic legacy platform that is the backbone of both Netbank and the Commbank App and transfer it to a modern cloud-based platform. Five squads (two in Sydney, 3 offshore) will work together to decommission, transfer, or redesign and rebuild components on our new future-facing platform.

      Platform/technology domain experience will be advantageous given this Product Owner's 'customers' will be other product development teams.

      PO – Money Movement & Fraud Card Modernisation

      Supporting a significant project to simplify and modernise the products, processes and infrastructure supporting our Cards offering. This is an opportunity to reimagine the digital customer experience for Cards. One Squad will be supporting the CommBank App experience, and the other NetBank .

      All Product Owner role activities will include (but are not limited to):

      • Being a ccountable for addressing impediments, driving decisions, and resolving escalations.
      • Act ing as the voice of the business and customer and translate this for the team to coordinate a ‘one-team’ approach to problem solving.
      • Provid ing clear lines of communication with our stakeholders on the product roadmap and prioritisation decisions.
      • Identify ing , articulat ing and manag ing risks and compliance across streams of work.
      • Incorporat ing design thinking and analytics to inform product design.
      • Lead ing and develop ing the product roadmap, and engagement with senior stakeholders/ business units to manage the delivery of product roadmap.
      • Lead ing the squad day-to-day to deliver change and lifecycle activities.
      • Maintain ing a healthy prioritised Backlog to deliver business and customer outcomes.
      • Manag ing senior business and technical stakeholders to ensure that prioritisation is understood and agreed to.
      • Manag ing the squad’s performance to defined objectives including OKR tracking, etc.

      • Will apply a strong level of pragmatism to balance strategic initiatives with keep-the-lights-on work.
      • Are passionate about building digital experiences, and passionate about driving the next evolution of our digital architecture.
      • Are experienced in definition of p roduct r oadmaps, delivery of p roduct vision.
      • Proven experience in influencing work and priorities through stakeholders
      • Proven experience leading teams
      • Experience with Agile methodology , working within an Agile Matrix would be ideal.
      • Prior experience as a p roduct o wner in this space would be highly desirable, but not a must .
