      Job Summary:

      The Agile Product owner will be responsible for working on one or more Agile SCRUM teams to develop features and user stories for retail electric and gas customer operations efforts. The Agile Product owner will collaborate between key stakeholders and other lines of business to assist the agile teams in translating those needs into functional specifications. This role will manage the process of prioritization that directly contributes to both SCRUM team’s ability to develop, test, and deploy new retail products. This role requires that the individual is both strategic and hands-on technically and will employ user centered design methodology/design thinking to deliver best-in-class and customer-first experiences for NRG retail customers.

      Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

      Core duties and responsibilities include the following. *Other duties may be assigned:

      • Firm grasp of agile development, technology, customer experience, user experience

      • Proactively gathers and weighs needs of customers, internal and external, balancing cost, time to market, value and competitive landscape

      • Represents Voice of Customer to the development team through clear unambiguous user stories and requirements

      • Works in an Agile environment and continuously reviews the business needs, refines priorities, outlines milestones and deliverables, and identifies opportunities and risks

      • Partners with stakeholders and customers across the organization to inform the product vision, strategy, features, and prioritization

      • Identifies resources and priorities in collaboration with technical lead

      • Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project scope and communicates relevant project information to appropriate levels of management

      • Manages project budget or supports dedicated project manager; works with project management team to provide holistic project overview

      • Ensures project artifacts and documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately

      • Works with technical lead to coordinate agile development process and drive a culture of continuous development

      • Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion

      • Identifies opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change

      • Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work

      Working Conditions:

      • Position is remote full time

      • Standard work week, with occasional overtime required

      Minimum Requirements:

      • A college degree in a relevant field with 3+ years of product development experience or 5+ years of product development experience in lieu of a degree

      • Demonstrated experience with Agile methodologies and distributed software systems

      • Experience with Scrum/Kanban or similar Agile Software Project Management tools (i.e. Azure DevOPS, Jira, Trello)

      • Previous project Owner experience in similar role

      Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

      • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to lead and to foster collaboration and communication across teams

      • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and consistently meet deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision

      • Experience working with development partners in a remote environment

      • Excellent planning and time management skills with a track record of following through on commitment

      • Strong verbal and written communication skills
