      How You’ll Make an Impact:

      Position Overview

      The Product Owner is responsible for ensuring Fidelity Private Wealth’s products and platforms are developed so that they meet our goals of driving business results, integrating data into our CRM tools, delighting users with technology and automation and that they continuously evolve to meet changing wealth industry demands and new opportunities. With this mandate, they own the product backlog to deliver features and enhancements that achieve those goals.

      The Product Owner represents the business unit in a cross-functional Agile team. With ownership of the product(s) responsibilities including managing and making visible the product backlog, prioritizing requirements for future product development, and evaluating the work generated by the team to ensure enhancement of features and functionality of the product.

      The Product Owner is responsible for ensuring that all product risks are identified early and continuously through the product development lifecycle, that all key stakeholders (including, but not limited to: Product, Sales, Corporate Affairs, Marketing, Advanced Analytics, Development, QA,

      Operations, Compliance) are engaged continuously and collaboratively, driving toward each release or deliverable throughout the product lifecycle.

      Responsibilities also include but are not limited to assessing current systems / business procedures, participating in operational reviews, documenting requirements, coordinating user acceptance testing, and ensuring successful implementation of enhancements.


      Responsibilities
      Work within Agile team to deliver best software solutions for our suite of products.

      • Acts as Product Owner for Agile team, participating in Scrum meetings and product sprints.
      • Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy.
      • Provide vision and direction to the Agile development team and stakeholders throughout the project and create requirements.
      • Plan and prioritize product feature backlog to ensure there is a clear vision and roadmap.
      • Oversee all stages of product creation including design and development, monitoring progress at each stage.
      • Assist with Agile team reporting and road-mapping.
      • Keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends.
      • Maintain and make available an accurate and current product backlog.
      • Liaison with Product Sponsor and Management to ensure successful delivery priority.
      • Successful presentation of delivered features and status to senior management team and stakeholders.
      • Successful coordination with Scrum Master(s) to ensure teams are delivering the best results.

      Participate in Operational Reviews

      • Attend kick off meetings to review existing operational controls.
      • Organize documentation in advance of operational process reviews.
      • Schedule resources and coordinate operational process walkthroughs & follow-up meetings.
      • Conduct meetings with management to update them on the status of process analysis, findings and recommendations for enhancements.
      • Assist with the implementing of process improvements and efficiency recommendations.

      Lead systems enhancement change management planning

      • Facilitate discussions between business departments & systems division to identify business requirements, testing needs and implementation timelines.
      • Organize departmental and/or divisional communication.
      • Coordinate updating relevant training materials and job aids.

      What We Are Looking For:

      Experience

      • 2+ year(s) working experience in the financial industry, specifically client services and/or operations dealing directly with investors (required)
      • 2+ year(s) working experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst or equivalent (required)
      • Working knowledge of Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, Lean, XP etc. (required)
      • Experience creating agile product roadmaps, backlogs, business case development and ROI reporting (required)
      • Wealth industry experience (asset)
      • Experience in digital product delivery and CRM tools (e.g. Salesforce, DocuSign, etc.) (asset)
      • Project management experience (asset)

      Education:

      • University degree (Bachelor Degree) or equivalent work experience

      Designations, Licenses, or Accreditations

      • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or Product Owner Certification (required)
      • Canadian Securities Course (CSC) (asset)
      • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) (asset)
