      As a Product Specialist, you will play a key role within go-to-market by supporting our sales teams with customer requests and learning resources. You’ll be vital in expediting sales opportunities by assisting customers with their compliance needs, actively responding to security questionnaires, and other vendor registration requirements. As part of our human-centric approach to security, you will be instrumental in supporting customers and other go-to-market teams by creating valuable video and knowledge base content, and facilitating customer office hours. Your efforts will aim to increase adoption, reduce friction, and elevate the understanding of 1Password.


      This is a remote opportunity within Canada and the US.

      • It’s a bonus if you have personal experience with 1Password or another password manager—while not required, it’ll help you gain confidence quickly in this role.
      • Experience working in the security industry at a SaaS company.


      What you can expect:
      • Work with our self service and SMB customers in a one to many capacity to share product knowledge and demonstrate aspects of 1Password.
      • Provide training to both customers and team members at 1Password.
      • Respond to vendor requests, security questionnaires, and legal requests.
      • Write and manage knowledge-base content for go-to-market.
      • Record video resources to be shared internally and with customers.
      • To be a sought after resource for go-to-market for questions regarding 1Password.
      • Work with the rest of your team to create materials for learning about and using 1Password.
      • Document releases across 1Password’s ecosystem to keep go-to-market informed on what’s new and what it means for their customers.

      • Your first 30 days
      • Get to know the product, our culture, the product specialist processes, and the people you'll be working with.
      • Learn our tools and how we utilize them in our day-to-day activities.
      • Receive comprehensive training on risk assessments, vendor forms, and compliance standards.
      • Shadow team members to gain exposure to the roles and responsibilities of a Product Specialist.
      • Begin grasping the nuances of go-to-market (GTM) strategies and your role in expediting deals.
      • By the end of the 30-day period, you will have gained a comprehensive understanding of our processes and how we contribute to supporting the GTM strategy as a whole, including knowing where to locate pertinent information.

      • Your next 30 days
      • Transition from observation to actively responding to vendor requests, security questionnaires, and legal inquiries.
      • Start crafting concise knowledge base content and initiate interactions with customers.
      • Begin creating video content to communicate technical information effectively.
      • By the end of the 60-day period, you will have actively engaged with vendor requests, security questionnaires, and legal inquiries, showcasing a proactive approach to addressing crucial aspects of our operations. Additionally, your role in customer engagement and content creation will have expanded, contributing to a more robust knowledge base and providing valuable insights into our evolving product landscape.

      • Rounding out your first 90 days
      • Establish yourself as a sought-after resource for go-to-market strategy-related inquiries.
      • Contribute significantly to the knowledge base and internal training materials.
      • Continue refining video creation skills for both internal and customer-facing materials.
      • Address questions regarding 1Password, providing insights and solutions to team members and customers.
      • Engage with self-service and SMB customers directly, contributing to their understanding of 1Password.
      • Demonstrate reliability in recording compelling video content for various audiences.
      • Showcase adaptability by effectively managing multiple projects concurrently.
      • By the end of the 90-day period, you will have firmly positioned yourself as a Product Specialist, demonstrating a deep understanding of our day-to-day influence on the GTM deal cycle and overall support dynamics. Additionally, you'll have acquired the ability to take decisive action and execute tasks such as, but limited to, security questionnaires and video production, contributing significantly to the seamless functioning of our operations.

      USA-based roles only: The Annual base salary for this role is between $72,000 USD and $98,000 USD and is commission eligible. The role is also eligible for immediate participation in 1Password's benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.


      Canada-based roles only: The Annual base salary for this role is between $68,000 CAD and $92,000 CAD and is commission eligible. The role is also eligible for immediate participation in 1Password’s generous benefits program (health, dental, RRSP and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.


      At 1Password, we approach each individual's compensation with a promise of fair market value and internal equity commensurate with experience and specific skill set.


      We believe in the power of remote work, but we also recognize that some in-person connection with team members and customers is important to help us achieve our mission. While we are a remote-first company, occasional travel for in-person engagement will be a part of this role. This may include but is not limited to bi-annual department-wide offsites, quarterly department meetings and periodic customer events. These events will typically be held in varying locations across Canada and the USA. In leadership roles, you can expect to travel once per month on average.
