      Location: Remote, US - Operating on East Coast time (up to 10% domestic travel)

      Status: Full Time

      OPPORTUNITY

      Reporting to the Director of IP and Content Services, the Product Team Webmaster will be responsible for front-end website development and content production tasks and will work closely with the Director of IP and Content Services, Associate Directors of Production and Content Strategy, and consultants to support the Curricular Product Team’s publication of curriculum and other content on the EL website. This is a remote position that requires the ability to work within east coast office hours .

      RESPONSIBILITIES

      Design and produce new content for website (70%)

      • Serving as the Product Team’s website development project manager, working with the external content management system vendor and the external website development consultants to develop a custom web publishing solution for EL’s curriculum products and other content as needed

      • Supporting technical mapping used in EL’s production workflow from authoring through to digital requirements definition and digital format delivery to internal and external partners (e.g. Google > Word > DITA XML > digital output formats including XHTML, NIMAS XML, ICML, ePub, Word, and PDF)

      • Defining, creating, and mapping content architecture and metadata for delivery to internal and external partners

      • Supporting the Product and Sales department’s online presence, including project managing development of new or updated website content or features


      Manage existing content for website (25%)

      • Maintaining and optimizing the EL curriculum website and other curriculum web properties, including managing content updates via CMS production process and managing a calendar of curriculum product releases

      • Conducting website quality assurance reviews and troubleshooting technical issues, including adherence to accessibility standards

      • Reviewing analytics data, researching new trends, and recommending and implementing optimization and new web publishing solutions

      • Addressing customer feedback and usability issues

      QUALIFICATIONS

      Skills and Experience

      • Minimum of 5 years of website production and design experience

      • Working knowledge of content management systems (especially Wagtail), website architecture, HTML5, CSS3, VBA, Microsoft XML, XML, XSLT, Javascript or Python, web accessibility, cross-browser compatibility, website tools, and website security

      • Evidence of successful project management, process improvement, and cross-platform problem solving

      • Website portfolio demonstrating UX design solutions


      COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

      The starting salary range for this position is $85,000 - $112,000 annually . We offer a wide variety of benefits, including paid time off, 403b match, paid parental leave, medical/dental/vision insurance, and more.

      This position is remote (US) with up to 10% domestic travel. The ability to work primarily on East Coast time is preferred but not required.
