      Repsol has an opening in The Woodlands, Texas for a Production Allocation Engineer. This position reports to the Lead Production Allocation Engineer within the Eagle Ford Business Unit, supporting Repsol's operated asset.

      Summary: The Production Allocation Engineer’s mission is to ensure the proper allocation of the production back to the individual wells and will be the Eagle Ford Business Unit point of contact in the allocation methodology . The Allocation Engineer will learn the QA/QC processes and ensure methodology is calculating correctly. The EFBU produces gas and condensate at the wellhead, which is subsequently processed into dry gas, natural gas liquids and stabilized condensate. The Allocation engineer will work in a multi-disciplinary team that includes operators and accountants to achieve the objective of accurate allocation.

      Key Responsibilities

      • Be the local reference of the production back allocation process and validate allocation in Energy Components to analyze daily closing production figures.
      • Establish the daily and monthly QA/QC tools and processes for data entry and the resulting production allocation.
      • Track and drive progress of new functionalities/methodologies within Energy Components.
      • Validate existing allocation setups and provide guidance to Production Accounting team when questions arise. Be able to work closely with field operations team to understand actual field set up to ensure an EC system match.
      • Management of the sampling program and laboratory analyses for the purposes of allocation.
      • Utilizing the analyses, oversee the required HySys runs to determine the appropriate factors for allocation on new wells and validate the factors for existing production.
      • Identification of any meter discrepancies and facilitation of resolution actions.
      • Identify and categorize for management the production deferment forecast and reconciliation.
      • Become the main point of contact for the NonOperated production and Operating expenses
      • Ability to effectively work within a multidiscipline team and matrix organization.
      • Ability to establish strong communication channels with the field personnel.


      Required education, skills, and experience

      • Full US work authorization, without limitations, conditional requirements, or sponsorship required, now or in the future.
      • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
      • 4+ years direct experience in production engineering design, process modeling, and production allocation methodologies.
      • Experience with hydrocarbon sampling processes and laboratory analysis.
      • Strong understanding of EOS and thermodynamics for multiphase hydrocarbon streams.
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, Energy Components (or other production allocation programs such as Merrick, Avocet, Quorum)
      • Experience in HySys modelling is a plus.
      • Requires periodic domestic travel to field sites in the Texas region.

      Location & Schedule

      • Exempt, full time salaried, based out of our US headquarters in The Woodlands, Texas.
      • Candidates may have monthly travel to field sites, approximately 10% of time.
      • Candidates should be able to reasonably commute to the office in The Woodlands, Texas. Position does not include relocation.
      • This office follows a hybrid work model and compressed work schedule (9/80); however, the specific schedule is to be discussed with and confirmed by the hiring manager based on business needs and may be revised at any time at the managers discretion.
