SALARY: $90,000 - $100,000 with potential annual bonus

ROLE SUMMARY:

As an important member of the Wicked Weed Portsmouth Brewing Team, the Brewmaster is responsible for owning all aspects of the brewing department, including all hot and cold operations of the brewery.

The Brewmaster will enhance production standards, and continuously review the product, including microbiological stability and taste. They are responsible for managing employee selection, training process, and performance management of the brewery team. The Brewmaster is expected to be punctual, self-motivated, and able to contribute to a teamwork environment.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Responsible for all hiring and leadership for 17+ people both hourly and salary

• Develop and ensure all SOPs and processes are implemented and followed

• Maintaining and ensuring there is a clean, sanitary, and presentable work environment for all staff

• Direct liaison between all other departments to ensure schedules and deadlines are met

• Responsible for all data collection, KPI development and tracking to ensure departmental targets are monitored and achieved

• Responsible for continuous improvement throughout all aspects of brewing production

• Responsible for ensuring that safety procedures are adhered to throughout the brewery

• Responsible for creating pathway for learning and growth for brewers within the department

• Develop and ensure master sanitation schedule is adhered to

• Ensuring all safety processes are developed, implemented, and followed throughout the department, including locally as well as OSHA specific guidelines

• Maintaining a sanitary, high quality work environment for entire team

• Owns budget for brewing department

• Create annual BOM budget for all brands

• 5S familiarity

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years in brewery management at a 50k+ barrel facility required

• Diploma or certificate in Brewing or Fermentation Sciences from an accredited brewing school preferred

• HAACP and Food Safety understanding

• Advanced knowledge of beer styles and sensory

• Self-motivated with good time-management skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Google Docs, and technology

• Ability to lead people effectively

• Highly interpersonal with the ability to work cross-functionally

• Proficiency in recipe driven brewery control systems
