      Repsol is seeking a Production Engineer to join the Marcellus Business Unit. This position is a great opportunity for recent engineering graduates (petroleum, mechanical, or similar) to start their career with a Global oil & gas company.

      Location: The position must be supported onsite in Horseheads, New York, full time, Mon-Fri. Potential for some telework days after one year. Relocation support may be considered for nonlocal candidates. However, local candidates are preferred and encouraged to apply.

      Summary

      Analyse, design and plan production engineering activities required for the integrated field-development plan, during the phases of visualization and conceptualization, and those necessary for the optimization of the asset's production and profitability during the operational phase; all of this in accordance with company policy and complying with Safety and Environment regulations.

      Duties & Responsibilities

      • The Production Engineer will focus on the main processes of Monitoring & Design, Production Planning, Monitoring and Control, Production Analysis & Optimization, and Well integrity Management, minor activities of MoC’s, GHG Emissions reduction HSE, AFE’s and other responsibilities to include minor project management as needed, this positions interacts with the local Operations Center, Monitoring & Surveillance Engineering, ExCe Production Engineering, Technical Services, and various local and regional teams as required to maximize the areas production potential
      • Required to provide updated models to perform Production Engineering processes and consolidate the Integrated Production Model, updating with the latest well test data or intervention results, consolidate all chokes, including reservoir, wells, gathering, plant, export and marketing, to identify the smallest choke to provide the Actual Production Potential, requiring coordinating with multiple disciplines to update the operating envelopes and perform debottlenecking exercise with relevant stakeholders, provide inputs to D&C for workovers and detailed well intervention programs to well services to enhance production with activities
      • Required to propose and coordinate the short term (1YR) projection plan, collaborating with other disciplines PE will lead the development of the Asset Annual Production Plan, coordinating the activities of all relevant stakeholders and consolidating the inputs into a solid 1yr plan, coordinating with Asset Control, Asset Management and Business Unit approval, PE will be responsible to participate in weekly planning and scheduling meetings to ensure alignment and a complete integrated plan.
      • Responsible to monitor daily data loaded by Production Operations and validate its consistency and quality, track asset production performance to identify deviations from production plans, monitor well operating conditions and performance, evaluate, and validate well allocation, analyzing results from well interventions, participate in production and asset performance meetings on daily, weekly and monthly frequencies.
      • Responsible to lead RCA’s, asses impacts and potential solutions, review optimizations and recommend corrective actions with relevant stakeholders for all production and optimization events.
      • Responsible to setup and update well integrity management tool, ensure data is accurate and track the status of barriers, continuously review KPI’s and inspection test results, analyze and detect abnormal behavior such as annulus pressure, and in collaboration with ExCe’s and D&C to identify appropriate solutions, follow-up on progress of workovers and the remediation of integrity issues with well barriers after the hand over from operations to D&C
      • Ensure compliance with all Repsol policies and procedures as it pertains to technical and engineering specifications and federal, state, and local regulations with special attention to those related to safety and environmental protection.
      • Any other reasonable activity required by management.

      Qualifications

      • Candidates must have full US work authorization, without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.
      • Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate engineering field (Petroleum and Natural Gas or Mechanical preferred)
      • Professional Engineering Certification Preferred
      • Experience would be an advantage but not required.
      • Knowledgeable of Natural Gas Production Operations inclusive of Artificial Lift, Gas Processing and Measurement, Subsurface Remediation/Workovers
      • Experienced in Operational Integrity and Engineering Design and Specification
      • Understanding of Economic Analysis of Investment Opportunities
      • Basic/Intermediate knowledge in all Oil and Gas Functional Areas (Land, Geology, Drilling, Completions, Gas Marketing)

      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

      Physical / Environmental Demands

      • 85% Office work environment is relatively free of hazards and is not physically demanding aspects of the job.
      • 15% Field exposure where working conditions could involve some physical exertion, exposure to the elements in all weather conditions, rough terrain and hazards inherent in the job which may include routine travel, confined spaces, working at heights, excessive noise all related to occasional visits to operations sites.
      • Light work duties could include exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Walking, sitting, standing, talking, and driving required.
      • Sedentary work duties that include exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible force frequently to move objects including human body. Walking, sitting, standing, talking.
