Summary

Slegg Building Materials is currently seeking a Full-Time Door Shop Production team member. The shifts are Monday - Friday 7am - 3:30pm. The wage range is $22 - $27.50 per hour, based on experience. Our Extended Health & Dental benefits start after 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Produce and manufacture doors using machines and tools
• Comply with all safety requirements
• Use of power tools
• Read work orders over before beginning door production manufacturing to ensure you have all necessary information
• Understand machine processes, paperwork systems and quality standards
• Assist with coordination of workflow within manufacturing plant and supply chain to expedite production
• Record any product used that is not on face of work order
• Advise supervisor of low inventory or other product concerns
• Keep work area organized and free of debris at the end of the day
• Check machining, cutting, and processing tolerances against required standards
• Various other duties as required or directed by management

Requirements

• Detail orientated with disciplined work habits
• Effective written and oral communication skills (Ability to speak, read and write in English)
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
• Ability to work independently and as a team
• Good knowledge of basic mathematics
• Physical requirements include:
  o Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs
  o Pulling, pushing, bending and torso twisting movements with weight

The Location - Door Shop, 1210 Chidlow Connector Rd.

Our Langford Store and Door Shop are conveniently located on a major transit route just off of Sooke Road past the Luxton Fairgrounds. The Door Shop provides the production team with state-of-the-art equipment for manufacturing interior and exterior residential and commercial doors. This diverse team works well together by showing mutual respect and collaboration.
